Chulapa v2.2.0
Added
-
Standardize skin catalog images and activation guidance with shared preview generation and documentation templates, showing each skin's default Chulapa navbar.
-
Add Cerulean, Litera and Pulse using original Bootswatch 4.6.2 Sass, preserving their palettes, typography and component styling, with catalog previews and documented contrast limitations.
-
Add an opt-in light/dark/auto skin selector to classic, floating and dual navigation, preserving preferences and applying the selected skin before the first paint (#165).
-
Support opt-in GoatCounter analytics with a public HTTPS endpoint, loaded asynchronously only for production builds.
-
Add opt-in PhotoSwipe image viewers to masonry galleries and carousels with lazy loading, keyboard and touch controls, reduced-motion support and original-image fallbacks.
-
Highlight the current section in in-page, sidebar and kramdown tables of contents while scrolling, with accessible current-location links and unchanged keyboard navigation.
-
Mark archive, category and tag indexes and the pagination example as Microformats2 feeds with structured entries, without additional configuration.
-
Provide complete personal blog, technical blog, portfolio and project starter examples with a start guide and YAML demos.
-
Render Mermaid diagrams with
mermaid: true, loading the library only on enabled pages containing diagrams and preserving source when rendering fails.
Fixed
-
Keep live theme selector styles conditional on dark-mode configuration, including standalone skin preview stylesheets, while retaining the always-visible component demo.
-
Generate both dark stylesheets under
assets/css/dark/, moving the dark highlighter todark/highlighter.cssand updating paired loading and fallback checks. -
Limit button palette corrections to unchanged stock colors, respect configured semantic colors and page backgrounds, and keep Auto-specific button styles out of Autothemer palette filling for other skins.
-
Restore original light labels on filled skin buttons consistently across interaction states, and improve low-contrast outline labels and borders on each skin’s page background while preserving global palette colors. Bring all eight solid-button variants in the 16 original dieghernan skins to AA text contrast in normal, hover, focus and active states; also adjust Hootstrap Primary. Keep Listen’s readable dark labels and Chulapa Success’s pastel resting fill. Other authors’ original filled-button limitations remain intentional.
-
Restore readable Flatly alert text on Bootstrap’s pale contextual backgrounds, including inline code and links in hover/focus states, without changing the palette.
-
Choose linked badge hover/focus text from the darkened background so labels retain contrast when the pointer or keyboard focus enters the link.
-
Improve bundled skin contrast with small palette and YIQ threshold adjustments while preserving original primary colors and skin identity. Keep dim-skin link accents and semantic text readable, and preserve previously readable button interaction states. Some original combinations remain below 4.5:1; custom colors and component states still require review.
-
Make available Previous/Next document links keyboard reachable, omit interactive missing neighbors, and keep default-layout headings inside main while excluding theme TOCs from editorial Microformats content. Preserve inherited listing feeds.
-
Keep skin switching functional when imported Google Fonts CSS fails, preserving the skins' font imports and standalone previews. Verify completed theme CSS before activation and retain safe recovery for missing or incomplete skin/highlighter sheets.
-
Encode Cactus conversation identifiers without forbidden characters or path collisions and include
baseurlin Welcomments form permalinks; review existing Cactus thread mappings before upgrading (#125). -
Respect each document's
show_date: falsein tag/category cloud entries and their aliases, hiding fallback publication dates while preserving reading time (#154). -
Render the classic-navbar demo with the same menu component and shared script dependencies as the theme, preserving native dropdown controls and configured expansion.
-
Give the sidebar TOC trigger a theme-specific ID so it does not intercept links to the
demotag or category group. -
Match tag and category badge links to cloud group IDs for names containing
demo, without rewriting those names todmo. -
Related and random cards respect a candidate's
show_date: false, allowing undated documentation to hide Jekyll's fallback build date. -
Keep Chulapa skin dropdown navigation buttons in the same font as menu links, excluding them from the general heading-font button rule.
-
Use Font Awesome play/pause icons for carousel motion controls, preserving accessible action names and visible symbols when icon assets are unavailable.
-
Preserve skin-defined navbar typography, capitalization, text shadows and borders on native dropdown buttons, allowing direct custom
.nav-linkrules to override their defaults. -
Trim video names before applying accessible-label fallbacks, including whitespace-only values supplied by Liquid captures or legacy deferred-player markup.
-
Initialize carousels and react to reduced-motion preference changes when browsers expose only the legacy media-query listener API.
-
Initialize cached carousels rendered directly by custom layouts, sharing their deferred controller module, and derive thumbnail link names from rendered Markdown titles.
-
Keep closed lateral TOCs outside the focus order, support Escape with focus restoration, and enlarge their controls. Provide carousel pause/start controls and accessible indicators, respect reduced-motion preferences and keyboard interaction, identify video players by name and wrap long headings when text is enlarged.
-
Improve list and search heading structure, name collection thumbnail links, announce local search result counts, label the Welcomments comment field and avoid empty author landmarks. Mark current navbar destinations and use native buttons for dropdowns and carousel controls while preserving their appearance.
-
Keep custom search demos and the Lunr-enabled 404 page functional with the shared search helper and one copy of common JavaScript dependencies.
-
Initialize floating navigation on search pages without loading the content script, and retain initial menu focus while visibility animates.
-
Keep code copying and accessible feedback available without jQuery or Bootstrap, reuse the maintained implementation for the legacy clipboard asset, and avoid accidental heading and code globals.
-
Correct two-character search highlighting, validate Cusdis resize messages against the comment iframe, and retain a baseurl-aware home link when 404 suggestions cannot read a usable sitemap.
-
Insert deferred YouTube players on activation without a player API race, prevent duplicate players and provide a no-JavaScript video link.
-
Keep the single eligible document in random recommendations instead of rendering empty cards.
-
Respect the selected
index_sortfield in collection card indexes, internal masonry galleries and carousels; show all current demos in ascending filename order on the demo index. -
Associate Google and simple search labels with their input and load Lunr/Fuse attribution styles from stylesheets rather than body style blocks.
-
Give navbar dropdowns a valid named group role, move no-JavaScript navigation styles into the head and remove redundant void-element slashes, JavaScript types and the empty comments section warning from theme templates.
-
Name the lateral table of contents and footer link navigation for assistive technology, using a native navigation element for footer links.
-
Close the Cactus comments container correctly so browsers do not need to repair the footer structure.
-
Preserve publication dates on updated pages and author profile URLs in Microformats2, and stop declaring automatic entries for unrestricted minimal layouts (#86).
-
Make floating navigation operable with keyboard input, reveal focused heading permalinks, name card image links and improve text link contrast in the Chulapa, Navi, Journal and Flatly skins.
-
Header project links no longer announce themselves as disabled buttons to assistive technology.
-
Code copy buttons wait for clipboard writes, report failures and no longer clear the clipboard before copying.
Changed
-
Reuse the Lunr index, share local search result rendering, debounce typing while searching immediately on Enter, and batch result insertion without changing providers or ranking.
-
Share script dependencies across document layouts, avoid unused theme-script preloads on search pages, reuse TOC heading measurements and coalesce chatbot scroll persistence.
-
Reuse fixed footer content and cloud entry rendering with the existing include cache, avoiding repeated Markdown conversion and reading-time calculation across labels and indexes without new settings.
-
Share Liquid collection, cloud and recommendation rendering, iterate only existing frequencies and sort each recommendation score group once. Equal-score documents with the same date may appear in a different order; settings, eligibility and date priority are unchanged.
-
Format generated head HTML, JSON-LD and fixed footer content consistently and preserve head and footer indentation when blank-line compression is enabled.
-
Add a skip link and visible keyboard focus, underline prose links and respect reduced-motion preferences without changing the lateral TOC's Tab behavior.
-
Serve the Chulapa font from the installed theme and load Cactus resources only on pages with comments enabled.
