Highlights

  • Two-file config split: credentials and operational settings now live in separate files (~/.system2/config.toml for user-edited tunables, ~/.system2/auth/.auth.toml for everything system2 config writes). Auth state is in a hidden file inside a 0700 dir.
  • OAuth subscription support for OpenAI Codex (ChatGPT) and GitHub Copilot, alongside the existing Anthropic Claude Pro/Max flow.
  • Tier-aware OAuth model selection: family-prefix resolver picks the current flagship per provider from pi-ai's catalog, with optional per-provider pinning.
  • system2 onboard replaced by system2 init + system2 config: clean separation of scaffolding (one-shot) from credential/services management (re-entrant interactive menu).
  • 1100-line regex-based TOML patcher → 150 lines of parse-mutate-write via @iarna/toml. Eliminates an entire class of patcher bugs (stub replacement, EOF placement, sub-section repair on hand-edit damage, control-char escaping, comment preservation).

Migration

0.3.0 is a clean break with no migration code. Existing 0.2.x installs need to manually re-create their config files. Step-by-step instructions are in the Migration section of the CHANGELOG.
