Token not showing on bot creation

Description

When turning an application into a bot the token doesn't show, causing you to regenerate the token .

Steps to Reproduce

1. Turn an application into a bot.
2. Profit.

Expected Behavior

The token shows.

Current Behavior

The token doesn't show.

How so, I can't access my token when I create my bot which doesn't make sense in my opinion.

Many services that expose a public API do this. Discord just finally caught up.

Well yes I know that hiding the token after the first creation is an intended feature on the new dev portal, and I'm glad that it's been introduced. But Discord doesn't even show you the token on creation forcing you to regenerate the token.

At least with most services I've used (I may just use bad services I guess), when you create something (say, for object storage, when you create bucket), you're shown the API key for that once, and afterwards you have to have to regenerate the token (in Discord's case with 2FA). What Discord has done here is effectively put up a giant roadblock of inconvenience for doing so much as generating a bot, since you have to regenerate the token for your bot to even begin to use it.

So, realy the only "issue" here is the nuisance it is to get a bot up and running

i think "a giant roadblock of inconvenience" is a bit abusive, all you have to do is grab your 2FA code once more. you usually don't create new bot accounts that ofen for it to be so much of an issue

Thanks for the feedback. As stated previously this behavior is currently considered working as intended. Since it does not appear to be a bug I am going to close this issue.

Since this is intended, shouldn't the string be adjusted to no longer state that the token is shown once at the beginning though?

it means when the token is created, not when the bot is created.

Wait, isn't the token created when the bot is created? I still don't understand how this is intended.

Its more effort for them than its worth to add a check to see if there is already a bot created under the application, so you could just repeat the create bot request and access your token whenever u wanted, bypassing the need for a 2FA code
