Small fixes for calls and the Apple Watch app.

  • A finished call's end time now shows in full in the Dynamic Island instead of being cut off.
  • In French, a time such as 16 h 13 no longer breaks across two lines at larger text sizes.
  • The Apple Watch app now shows live calls and unread messages in colour, so they stand out at a glance.

More of District AI on your Apple Watch.

  • Follow a call's live transcript on your Apple Watch while the assistant takes it, and guide the assistant: tell it you will call them back today, have it ask what the call is about, or dictate your own instruction.
  • When a call ends, your watch shows a summary with the outcome and the action items. Call back on iPhone opens your iPhone's keypad with the number filled in.
  • Add an optional complication that shows how many messages are unread. It is on no watch face until you add it, and it never shows who wrote.
  • Decline a call on your iPhone or your Apple Watch, and once everyone it rang has declined, the assistant takes a message right away instead of letting it ring on.
  • Message notifications now show who the message is from, when the contact has a name.
  • Notifications about an urgent call, or from a contact you marked VIP, can arrive as Time Sensitive, so they reach you during a Focus.

Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

District AI for iOS 3.1.0, the source of the App Store release (build 4181).

On the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6809297970

District AI comes to Apple Watch.

  • A new Apple Watch app shows your recent calls and your inbox. Reply to a conversation with a quick reply or your own words, and mark it read.
  • Turn your availability for calls on or off from your wrist, and add a complication to a watch face to see at a glance whether calls ring to you.
  • Tapping a message notification on your watch opens that conversation.
  • The Apple Watch app works with District AI on your iPhone, so keep your iPhone nearby. It needs watchOS 10 or later.
  • Reply and Mark read on a message notification now work when the app is closed, from a locked iPhone or from your Apple Watch.
  • District Desk is now simply the Desk.
  • Text fields have a clearer edge, so an empty field is easy to see.
  • District HQ's question box shows its own hint instead of repeating its label.
  • A contact or conversation known only by its number shows a person icon instead of a stray symbol.
  • Phone numbers no longer repeats its help text.
  • In French, working hours show and accept times such as 9 h and 13 h 30.

On the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6809297970

A small update.

  • In French, a workflow's Recent runs now say why a step could not notify your team, for example that no team member has the app on a device that can receive notifications.
  • Rooms and Preview persona say in plain words when a session ends or cannot connect, instead of showing a technical message.
  • Crash reporting is updated to the latest stable version.

Fixes for answered calls, and clearer screens.

  • Answering a call no longer waits for the speaker to start, which could stop the call from connecting.
  • Coloured badges are easier to read, with more contrast between each label and its background.
  • Section and field labels are in sentence case, without capitals or letter spacing.
  • Sheets use the app's own background instead of grey, and text fields have a clear edge and no longer repeat their label inside the box.
  • Empty Calls, Contacts and Inbox lists fill the screen.
  • On iPad, a long workspace name shows on up to two lines in the sidebar.
  • The Desk's status filters wrap onto a second line instead of being cut off at the edge of the screen.
  • Bookings switches between its views with one segmented control instead of separate buttons.
  • Working hours: the two edit buttons say what they do and no longer look like tabs.
  • In French, a call length never breaks across two lines, the Inbox is titled Réception as on its tab, a number in use reads Actif, and a contact's research headings are in French.

District AI is now in Canadian French.

  • Raise a ticket on a customer's behalf from District Desk: the New ticket button in the Desk toolbar opens the form.
  • Knowledge: Read a text file fills a new document's title and text from a plain text file (.txt or .md, up to 1 MB). Nothing is added until you tap Add document.
  • If the receptionist is interrupted mid-call, the live transcript says Reconnecting… instead of Call ended, and goes live again when the call resumes.

Live call transcripts come to iPhone and iPad, and your receptionist's settings now live together under District Studio, as on the web.

  • See a call's transcript live while the call is in progress, then the full transcript in the same place once it ends.
  • In workspace settings, your receptionist's settings are grouped under District Studio, in the same order and with the same names as on the web: Persona, Voice, call handling, Skills and Knowledge. Messaging, Members and Scheduling follow under Workspace.
  • Voice Studio is now called Voice, on its own screen and everywhere the app mentions it.
  • Links to District Studio on distronode.com open the matching screen in the app. A screen your role cannot open shows workspace settings instead, and Studio pages the app does not have open in the browser.
  • If your account has an authenticator app turned on, Sign in with Apple now asks for its code, as the website does. Enter the 6-digit code, or one of your recovery codes. A wrong code can be typed again, and if the step times out, start again with Sign in with Apple.

Voice Studio is the headline of 2.0.

Added

  • Voice Studio, in workspace settings: the same studio as on the web. Pick a starting point (Stable or Latest), then see the call's signal chain, Ear, Turn-taking, Brain and Voice (or one all-in-one realtime model), with each part's channel, where it is processed and how fast it was measured. Change any part, its voice, and its tuning under Advanced; the time to first word and where the call is processed update as you go, and say "at least" when part of the call has not been measured. Labels follow the language you use on the web, the time to first word of an unsaved change and the "Based on" line included.
  • Changing the persona's language moves a voice chain of your own to models that speak it, the way the web does, and says what happened.

Changed

  • The agent persona keeps its name, greeting, personality, language and answer length. The engine, the voice and how fast the agent replies moved to Voice Studio.

Removed

  • Call recordings. No call or meeting is recorded in any region, so the Play recording control on a call is gone.
  • Scheduling's Recordings section, the recording and meeting notes switches in its settings, and a booking's notes and transcript. Meetings are not recorded, so there was nothing for them to show. The settings tab is now "Booking assistant", as on the web.

On the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6809297970

Fixed

  • Signing out while the app was refreshing your session could leave you signed in on the next launch. Signing out now always sticks.
  • Reinstalling the app no longer resumes the account that was signed in before it was deleted.
  • If the service refuses your session, the app now gets a fresh one on the next request instead of failing until it expires.
  • Pulling to refresh the call log or contacts while more rows were loading could skip rows.
  • A quick double tap on Create ticket in Desk could create two tickets.
  • A quick second tap on the microphone or camera button in a meeting could be lost, and a change the device refuses now says so.
  • Inbox drafts that fail to save, or fail to clear after sending, are now reported instead of failing silently.
  • A recording that cannot be played now says so.

Changed

  • Scheduling shows the same messages as the website when something goes wrong, and offers Try again only where trying again can work. Its sheets now look alike.
  • Rescheduling a booking lists the slots for the day shown, in your scheduling time zone, even when you are travelling.
  • Scheduling screens open faster.
  • Workspace roles read Administrator, Member and Viewer, and regions read US, Canada, Europe and APAC, everywhere in the app.
  • Releases are built, signed and uploaded by this repository's public GitHub Actions workflow. No signing key or store credential is stored in the repository or in GitHub.
