v3.3.0
3.3.0
Requires Pi 1.0.0 or later. Upgrade with npm install -g @earendil-works/pi-coding-agent@latest. Conversations saved by older Pi versions remain readable and resumable.
Features
- Nested tools stay together — Tools called by other tools appear inside their parent block, with names, arguments, status, and available timings.
codemodescripts appear as readable JavaScript. Late-finishing child tools update their original block rather than appearing beneath a newer reply (#347) - Expand only what you need (TAB) — Fold the script, child-call list, parent output, and individual child outputs independently. Folding, incoming updates, and width changes keep your place in text that remains visible (#347)
- Saved child-call summaries — Reload and resume retain saved summaries, including Unicode text and available durations. Pi does not save individual child outputs, so those are unavailable after reopening a conversation (#347)
- Clearer submission feedback — The header shows "waiting for Pi" before acceptance and distinguishes queued input. Steering feedback follows Pi's acknowledgment. Commands handled by an extension release their wait without disturbing newer work (#347)
Fixes
- Dialogs cancel cleanly (C-g) — Selection, text-input, and confirmation dialogs send Pi a cancellation instead of leaving it waiting. Input hints no longer become part of submitted text or pasted sign-in URLs (#347)
- Interrupted replies keep their explanation — Failed or aborted replies reopen with their saved error or cancellation explanation alongside any partial answer, rather than an empty heading or an apparently complete reply (#347)
- Source links point to files — Built-in commands such as
/mcpno longer offer a file-edit action or a bogus source link from the startup banner. Extension source links remain available (#347)
Documentation
- MCP guidance for Emacs — The README explains
/mcpstatus, server login, logout, reconnect, startup waits, and connection notifications. The rich MCP manager and provider sign-in still require Pi's terminal UI (#347) - Project trust explained — Pilish already approves projects by default. The README now makes explicit that a trusted project's
.pi/mcp.jsoncan start configured server programs with Pi's permissions (#347)
