Repository navigation
v4.29.0
Focus: header links — your own navigation in the main header, centered where it fits, with icons and dropdowns.
Changes
- 🧷 Added opt-in Header Links (
header.linksindocsector.config.js): labels (a string or a locale map), Material icons and one level of dropdowns (children). - 🎯 The links are centered in the header wherever they fit: an estimate of their width (from the labels and icons in the config) drives a CSS container query, so the sidebar and the assistant panel count against the free space. Links never wrap or get cut off, and the header keeps its height.
- 📱 Where they don't fit — phones, or a narrow header next to the sidebar — the brand becomes a split button: the brand still goes home, and an arrow attached to it opens a menu with every link, dropdowns shown as small sections.
- 🔗 Links follow the sidebar top-link rule: the path of a page of the site opens in place and stays highlighted while open (
aria-current), a dropdown is highlighted when one of its sublinks is, and URLs open in a new tab with the open-in-new icon and a screen-reader cue. - ⌨️ The header menus support the arrow keys, Home and End; focus lands on the first link when a menu opens and returns to its button on Esc.
⚠️ docsector buildanddocsector devwarn about invalid header links (missing label, urlinstead ofhref, unknown children, nested sublinks, invalid icons).- 🔧 The internal
reportSponsorshipWarningsexport ofquasar-factoryis renamedreportConfigWarnings, as it now also checks the header. - 🌐 New language keys:
header.linksandheader.newTab(English and Portuguese defaults). - 📚 New manual page, Header Links (en-US and pt-BR), plus notes in the navigation menu and branding pages, the README and commented config samples.
- ✅ Validated with 788 unit tests (including a RouterLink parity matrix for the highlight rule and compiled-CSS pins), mutation checks, and SSR fixture builds in a headless browser from 390 to 1920px, with and without the sidebar, with three and five links, keyboard and dark theme.
