@gewarren #46031 does not replace this. “how to use copilot” is too far disconnected from the topic of this docs page to justify having that content here. if anything it negatively effects the signal to noise ratio of the legitimate content

if you strongly believe that ai prompt docs are critical to this page, and the inclusion of copilot is not a thinly veiled marketing attempt, then other equivalent ai tools should also be mentioned. eg would you accept a pr that adds content on how to achieve the same using jetbrains ai tooling

I'm not the one making decisions here, but will pass along the feedback I got from the owners of these Copilot sections:

"We appreciate the feedback and we're discussing which AI tools we document."

But since they definitely don't want to remove the section completely, I'm going to politely decline this PR.

@gewarren so will you accept a PR that adds similar docs for the Jetbrains AI tooling?

then this should not be closed until the decision makers comment

Dudes you are using Microsoft cr^p, it comes with other Microsoft cr^p, and/or ads for Microsoft cr^p. Have you looked at Windows lately? The only way to get a cr^p-free existence is to shun these tools and apps.

I would appreciate more clarity on why mentions of a specific AI product, such as Copilot, are included in these documents. I would prefer that none or multiple mentions be included in the documentation.

Why was this closed???? This should be a public discussion…

"GitHub Copilot is powered by AI, so surprises and mistakes are possible." This is an awful marketing slogan. That's like, "Chipotle: Ecoli is possible."
