ToString() on empty StringBuilder

What is returned by ToString() if no text was added to the StringBuilder, meaning if no Append*() or Insert() had been called? Will it return null or ""?

It returns String.Empty, see e.g. https://referencesource.microsoft.com/#mscorlib/system/text/stringbuilder.cs,330. I cannot think of one example where ToString() returns null and not "", but they probably exist somewhere.
