Releases: doubletwist13/orbit-for-lucid
Release list
v0.3.0 (alpha)
Frunk, trunk, horn and lights from the watch, plus a charge-coloured ring and new icons. Still alpha: it works end to
end on one setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one Lucid, an Air with a powered frunk).
What's new in v0.3.0
- Paged actions screen (#12). Tap the screen or press select for big icons in two pages: lock, climate, frunk and
trunk, then horn and lights. Swipe left or right between pages (the dots at the top show which), or use the up and
down buttons. Refresh and info are small buttons on both pages. - Frunk and trunk. Open or close, with a confirm tap, and the watch waits for the car to report the lid. The icons
show an Air or a Gravity as the car reports, with an arrow over the lid while it is open. A frunk with a gas strut
can only be unlatched, so it goes straight to the confirm. - Horn and lights. Horn (one short honk) asks for a confirm tap; lights (flash) act at once. Lucid's API gives no
way to confirm either, so the watch shows "Sending..." and then clears: it means Lucid took the request, not that the
car acted on it. - Charge ring colours. The ring is green at 50% or more, yellow 25 to 49, orange 10 to 24 and red below 10, and
dims when the data is more than 30 minutes old (#28, #30). - New glance and main-screen icons. Padlock, battery and plug, with the glance charge coloured, and the main
screen always shows the plug state (#31, #32, #37). - Docs. A battery measurement is in (#10): about 0.02% of the Pixel 10 Pro's battery over 14 hours for the
5 minute updates, and about 0.55% an hour on the Venu 3 (no baseline without the app, so an upper bound).
Everything since v0.2.0 (see the v0.2.1, v0.2.2 and v0.2.3 releases for detail)
- v0.2.1: the 5 minute updates now actually go out (#15); connection info on the phone and an info screen on the
watch (#16). - v0.2.2: error messages and layout fit small and rectangular screens, the fenix 7 and Venu X1 build and run in the
simulator only, the climate set point is a scrolling list, a stale "No phone link" clears, the watch shows its
version, and the phone's ages keep counting and updates go to every paired watch. - v0.2.3: the phone app is status and settings only (no car buttons), recovers from a lost Connect IQ link, pushes
the last status the moment the switch is turned on, and the push loop is unit tested (#20, #23, #25).

- Tested on an Air with a powered frunk. Not tested: a gas-strut frunk on a real car, and the Gravity icons on
a Gravity. - Update the phone app too. A new watch with an older phone app ignores the new commands and shows "No phone
link"; a message for that is planned (#39). - Open the watch app once after every install, so the watch registers to be woken by the phone's updates.
- The phone asks Lucid for status every 5 minutes on its own, from your account. That may not be welcome under Lucid's
terms (see the README's Limitations); the switch turns it off. It does not wake the car. - Everything from v0.1.0 still applies: unofficial API, single vehicle, written with heavy AI help.
No APK or watch file is attached: build both yourself and sideload them, following
INSTALL.md.
v0.2.3 (alpha)
Phone app trimmed to status and settings, plus a recovery fix and a switch-on push. Still alpha: it works end to end on one
setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one Lucid).
What's new
- The phone app no longer controls the car. The Lock, Unlock and Climate buttons are gone; it shows status, Refresh,
Log out and the watch update switch. Use the watch to control the car (#23). - Recovers from a lost Connect IQ link. If the Garmin SDK fails to start or is lost, the phone app retries (#25).
- Switching updates on pushes at once. Turning the watch update switch on sends the last status to the watch
straight away instead of waiting for the next 5 minute tick (#25). - The 5 minute push loop is unit tested (#20).

v0.2.2 (alpha)
Small-screen fixes, a version display, and the first look at two more watches. Still alpha: it works end to end on one
setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one Lucid).
What's new
- Two more watches, simulated only. The fenix 7 and the Venu X1 now build and run in Garmin's simulator (layout and
buttons on the fenix 7, layout and touch on the X1). They have never run on a real watch, so treat them as
tentative. The README has a status table. - Error messages fit. The bottom line of the main screen is shorter ("No phone link", "Open phone app", "Try again
soon", "Not confirmed", "Car didn't wake", "Unknown error") so it stays inside the ring on small and rectangular
screens. - Set point list. The climate temperature is now a scrolling list in the watch's own menu style, instead of
Garmin's picker, which drew white on the fenix 7 and cut off its OK button on the X1. - A stale error clears. A "No phone link" message no longer stays on screen after the phone's next update
arrives. - Version on the watch. The info screen shows "Orbit 0.2.2" at the bottom, so you can match the watch to the phone
app. - Phone fixes. The ages on the phone's status screen keep counting while it is open, and updates go to every
paired watch (the screen reports success if any received it).

- Open the watch app once after every install. That is when the watch registers to be woken by the phone's updates;
until then the glance stays as it was. - The phone asks Lucid for status every 5 minutes on its own, from your account, whether or not you are using the app
or have a watch connected. That may not be welcome under Lucid's terms (see the README's Limitations); the switch
turns it off. It does not wake the car. - A watch plugged into USB drops its Bluetooth link, so updates fail ("send failed") until it is unplugged.
- Battery cost of the 5 minute updates is not measured yet (#10).

v0.2.1 (alpha)
Fixes the 5 minute updates, which never worked in v0.2.0 (#15), and adds connection info (#16). Still alpha: it works
end to end on one setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one Lucid).
What's new
- Updates now go out. In v0.2.0 a connection check always said "no watch", so the phone never pushed anything.
The check is gone: every 5 minutes the phone fetches status and sends it to the watch, connected or not (a send to
an absent watch just fails). A switch in the phone app still turns it off. - Connection info on the phone. It shows when the car last reported, when the phone last asked Lucid, and
whether the watch received the last update ("send failed" if not). - Connection info on the watch. A small
ibutton on the actions screen opens an info screen with when the car
last reported and when the phone last updated the watch. - Docs and screenshots updated.

v0.2.0 (alpha)
Known bug: the 5 minute updates never worked in this release. Use v0.2.1 instead (#15). A connection check always said "no watch", so the phone never pushed anything. The temperature line and everything driven from the watch still worked.
Regular status updates and a temperature line (#7). Still alpha: it works end to end on one setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one Lucid).
What's new
- Stays current. About every 5 minutes, while the watch is connected, the phone fetches status and pushes it to the watch, even with the app closed, so the glance and main screen open on recent data. After a rate-limit answer from Lucid the phone waits longer, up to an hour. A switch in the phone app turns it off. (Did not work in this release, see above.)
- Temperatures. The main screen shows the cabin and outside air temperature (for example
21°/14°) in the watch's units. - Glance. It now shows only charge and lock state, with no age or dimming, since a glance is not redrawn between pushes.
- Docs and screenshots updated, including a detailed description of the main screen.

v0.1.0 (alpha)
First public release. Alpha quality: it works end to end on one setup (a Pixel 10 Pro, a Garmin Venu 3 and one
Lucid), and a lot is still rough.
What it does
- Shows state of charge, locked/unlocked and plugged/charging on the watch, with a glance that shows the last cached
state and its age. - Lock, unlock, climate on/off and refresh from the watch. Unlock and climate ask for a confirm tap; commands wake a
sleeping car first. - The phone app does all the Lucid calls and keeps a small foreground service so the watch can reach it after you
swipe the app away, and after a reboot once you first unlock the phone.

- Unofficial. Not affiliated with Lucid or Garmin, and it uses an undocumented API that can change or disappear.
- Single vehicle only; Venu 3 is the only watch it has run on (Venu X1 and fenix 7 compile but are untested).
- Fixed 21 C climate temperature, limited commands, and little testing of battery impact over days.
- Written with heavy AI help by someone who is not a programmer. It has not had a real code review. See the README's
Limitations and the note from the author.
