CodiesVR 0.6.0 - GRID Legends
Changes
- Optional custom OptiScaler menu rendered in VR, with exclusive menu switching and controller navigation.
- Optional PureDark AFW for GRID Legends, Combined mode only and disabled by default.
- Settings include AFW (PureDark) and Optiscaler / Install Optiscaler.
- In-game and standalone installer flows download the custom OptiScaler/AFW package. DLL replacements from the in-game flow wait for the game to exit.
- NVIDIA DLSS remains a separate manual download. The standalone installer accepts the downloaded ZIP; press Enter at that prompt to skip DLSS and finish installation.
- Default keys: F10 menu, F5 recenter, F6 home, F7 reset, F8 hide HUD.
- Both thumbsticks close the custom OptiScaler menu. Requires the current CodiesVR OptiScaler build.
- Updated Windows DLL version metadata.
Install / update
Close GRID Legends, extract GridLegendsVR-0.6.0.zip and run GridLegendsVR-Setup.bat.
If installing optional components, finish or skip the DLSS ZIP prompt and wait for installation to complete before starting the game.
OptiScaler and PureDark AFW are optional downloads, not bundled into the CodiesVR mod ZIP:
https://github.com/drowhunter/OptiScaler/releases/download/codies_v0.9.4/OptiScaler-CodiesVR.7z
Manual extraction of that package must preserve its internal D3D12_Optiscaler and Licenses folders directly in the game folder, alongside GridLegends.exe.
Source and scope
This release contains GRID Legends only. Existing GRID (2019) and DiRT 4 packages remain available in earlier releases.
The binary was built from local commit 2ead940 plus uncommitted changes. Download CodiesVR-0.6.0-corresponding-source.zip for the exact working-tree source, build scripts, and OpenXR/ImGui dependency sources used for this build. GitHub's automatically generated tag source archives are NOT the corresponding source for this binary. No local changes were committed or pushed as part of publishing.
Known issues
- Prefer Virtual Desktop's OpenXR runtime (VDXR) where supported. SteamVR OpenXR movement can produce ghosting or double images.
- Alternate-eye rendering can produce motion artifacts.
- AFW image quality, the updated dialogs, and controller behavior still require real-headset confirmation.
The Release build, integration regressions, installer checks, package layout and deployed DLL hash were checked. No new game session or headset testing was performed.
