SavePlus Installation Guide

Installation Steps

1. Download and Extract
First, download the SavePlus zip package and extract its contents to a temporary location on your computer. The package contains all the necessary files for the tool to function:

icons folder: Contains graphical resources for the tool
init.py: Python package initialization file
install_saveplus.mel: Installation script
savePlus_core.py: Core functionality module
savePlus_launcher.py: Tool launcher module
savePlus_main.py: Main interface and functionality

2. Install Using the MEL Script
The simplest way to install SavePlus is using the included MEL installer:

Start Maya 2025
Locate the extracted install_saveplus.mel file
Drag and drop this file directly into Maya's 3D viewport
A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to install SavePlus
Click "Install" to create a shelf button
After installation completes, you'll see a success message

3. Using SavePlus
Once installed, you can use SavePlus in several ways:

Shelf Button: Click the newly created SavePlus button on your shelf (it uses Maya's standard "saveplus" icon)
Python Command: If needed, you can also launch SavePlus by running this command in the Script Editor:
