CrossInk extras v1.3.0

@durgakulla durgakulla released this 30 Oct 05:28

Shows as 1.6.1-extras 1.3.0 on the reader (CrossInk 1.6.1 with CrossInk extras 1.3.0).

Chapter marks

  • Smarter automatic marks: the progress bars now mark the table-of-contents level with a sensible number of entries, so books divided into a few parts mark their chapters instead of just the parts.
  • Choose your own: the EPUB Optimizer has a chapter-mark editor. The marks you pick are saved inside the book, and this firmware uses them on the Reading Heatmap and Minimal Carousel progress bars.

Organize your books over USB

  • Renaming or moving a book over USB now keeps its reading stats, position and settings. Use it from the new File Manager, or the optimizer's "Replace on reader".

Clearer version name

  • The reader now shows "1.6.1-extras 1.3.0" instead of a development build name.

Downloads

  • firmware-x3-x4.bin: Xteink X3 and X4 (ESP32-C3).
  • firmware-x4-pro.bin: Xteink X4 Pro (ESP32-S3). Untested on real hardware. It builds and runs in the simulator, but nobody has flashed it to an X4 Pro yet. Try it only if you're comfortable recovering your device.

Minimal Carousel

  • The book in the middle now gets the Reading Heatmap's detailed progress bar: time read, time left in the chapter and the book, pages per minute, percent and page, a mark at each chapter, and the start and (estimated) finish dates beside it.

Reading Heatmap

  • Chapter marks now show up for books whose chapters share a file or sit under a single title entry in the table of contents (common in Project Gutenberg EPUBs). Each book's marks are worked out once and saved in its cache.

Reading Heatmap sleep screen

  • Today's date at the top, with a moon icon, so it doubles as a "last used" date.
  • Slightly smaller cover so all seven weekday labels have room.
  • Stats row spaced so long labels don't collide.
  • Now available on devices with a clock chip: X3, X4 Pro and X4 Classic. The original X4 has no clock, so it can't show a date-based heatmap.
