What's Changed

Breaking Changes

  • Antigravity CLI global rules: non-root rules are written to ~/.gemini/config/rules/. Closes #3189. by @dyoshikawa in #3201
    • The Antigravity CLI truncates each rule file at 24,000 bytes, so folding every global rule into ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md could silently cut rules off.
    • generate --targets antigravity-cli --global now keeps the root rule in ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md and writes each non-root rule to ~/.gemini/config/rules/<name>.md with Antigravity trigger frontmatter (always_on for plain rules, glob for specific globs, or an explicit antigravity.trigger). Nested rules are flattened (frontend/style.md becomes frontend-style.md).
    • The global GEMINI.md no longer carries a rule reference section, because the CLI loads that directory by itself.
    • ~/.gemini/config/rules/ is shared with the IDE and may hold rules created outside Rulesync, so generate --global --delete never removes files there. Remove the old file by hand after deleting or renaming a rule.
    • import --global reads the top level of ~/.gemini/config/rules/ and skips files with invalid frontmatter with a warning.
    • Project-scope output is unchanged.
  • generate --check now compares shared root files against their owner. Closes #3198. by @dyoshikawa in #3202
    • A narrowed check such as generate -t codexcli -f rules --check used to skip AGENTS.md when another configured target (e.g. opencode) owned it, and reported "All files are up to date" even after the file had been edited.
    • A skipped shared root file is now compared against the owner's expected output (or, when the owner does not emit it, the last non-owning writer's output). The owner is the last target in the config file that generates rules.
    • CI jobs that run a narrowed --check may now fail where they used to pass, if the file on disk does not match what a full generate would write. See "Target Order and File Conflicts" in docs/guide/configuration.md.

Other Changes

  • Sync the new-target watchlist figures with the latest re-check in #3199
  • Polish the rulesync-feature-research reference maps in #3200
  • Update the Homebrew formula to v22.0.0 in #3194
