GorillaCraft 0.10.18: no burning near lava
Lava burned you when your hand was near it or you were above it. Minecraft puts its player at your gorilla's head, and the normal player box hung 1.6 blocks below that, dipping into lava (and fire, walls and cactus) the gorilla never touched. Gorillas now get a gorilla-sized box around the head.
Server-side too: update the jar on your server and restart it.
GorillaCraft 0.10.17: whole HUD on your hand
The whole Minecraft HUD (hotbar, hearts, hunger, XP, chat, effects) is shown on the back of your left hand now, instead of just the hotbar.
GorillaCraft 0.10.16: SteamVR fix (Windows)
Windows / SteamVR: SteamVR kept closing Minecraft or Gorilla Tag. Gorilla Tag's boot.config tells Unity to start OpenVR natively at launch, before any mod can stop it, so SteamVR treated Gorilla Tag as its VR app. GorillaCraft now removes that line: Minecraft does it before starting Gorilla Tag, and the plugin does it on every start. A backup is kept in Gorilla Tag_Data\\boot.config.gorillacraft and restored when you set PlayInMinecraft = false.
On Windows: update both halves, then start the GorillaCraft instance in Prism (Minecraft starts Gorilla Tag without going through Steam). Starting Gorilla Tag first should work too now, but it goes through Steam's VR launch.
If a Steam update or "Verify integrity" restores the file, the first start after that may still fail: start again.
GorillaCraft 0.10.15: floating underwater
Underwater you're carried up again instead of sinking:
- Water deeper than a 16-block section got a fake surface at each section boundary, and Gorilla Tag's buoyancy is weakest just below a surface, so you sank there. The water's real surface is used now.
- Moving through the water, Gorilla Tag could think your body left it (between two of the boxes it's made of) and switch gravity back on. That's ignored now while you're still in the water.
Update both halves (the water data format changed).
GorillaCraft 0.10.14: swimming fixed
Swimming in Minecraft's water works now. Gorilla Tag's water tried to play a ripple effect every time a hand or your head crossed the surface, even with ripples turned off. Our water has no ripple effect, so that crashed, and the crash kept Gorilla Tag from noticing your body was in the water. Effects without a prefab are now skipped.
GorillaCraft 0.10.13: no wall suffocation, hotbar on your hand
- No more random suffocating: Minecraft's player box is wider than the gorilla's head, so next to a wall part of it poked in and Minecraft dealt wall damage. Gorillas don't take wall damage now. This is server-side: a dedicated server needs this jar too.
- Hotbar on the back of your left hand, reading across your knuckles.
GorillaCraft 0.10.12: swimming
Swimming: Minecraft's water is Gorilla Tag water now. You float, swim with arm strokes and can jump out at the surface, using Gorilla Tag's own swimming. Splash and ripple effects are off (Gorilla Tag draws nothing); Minecraft shows the water.
Update both halves (the dll embeds the mod).
GorillaCraft 0.10.11: start Gorilla Tag first
Start Gorilla Tag first. Start it from Steam as usual. With GorillaCraft it opens in a window with VR off (it's your gorilla's body) and starts the GorillaCraft instance in Prism, which takes the headset. This fixes SteamVR on Windows: SteamVR hands the headset to any game Steam starts, so Gorilla Tag gets that hand-over first, and Minecraft, started after it, keeps the headset.
- Starting the GorillaCraft instance first still works: Minecraft then starts Gorilla Tag.
- Normal Gorilla Tag in VR: set
PlayInMinecraft = falseinBepInEx/config/dev.gorillacraft.cfg. - Linux: Gorilla Tag (under Proton) can't start Prism, so keep
prismlauncher --launch GorillaCraft &at the start of its Steam launch options (see the guide).
Windows update: replace BepInEx\\plugins\\GorillaCraft\\GorillaCraft.dll, then just start Gorilla Tag. It updates and starts Minecraft.
GorillaCraft 0.10.10: Windows fix, take 2
Windows: in 0.10.9, Gorilla Tag started directly still relaunched itself through Steam. It does that when it isn't started by Steam, and SteamVR then took the headset from Minecraft again. The plugin now stops that relaunch when Minecraft started the game, and Minecraft starts it with the same Steam settings Steam would use.
Update both halves on Windows: replace BepInEx\\plugins\\GorillaCraft\\GorillaCraft.dll (the fix is in the plugin), start Gorilla Tag normally once so it updates the mod in Prism (or copy the jar into the instance's mods folder, replacing the old one), then start the GorillaCraft instance.
If it still happens, send Minecraft's logs\\latest.log (the Starting Gorilla Tag: line) and Gorilla Tag's BepInEx\\LogOutput.log.
GorillaCraft 0.10.9: Windows fix
Windows: Minecraft lost VR (and then closed) a second after starting Gorilla Tag. Starting a game through Steam while SteamVR runs makes SteamVR switch to that game and shut the current VR app down. Minecraft now starts Gorilla Tag.exe directly from your Steam library (and puts a steam_appid.txt next to it), so SteamVR stays with Minecraft.
To update on Windows: replace BepInEx\\plugins\\GorillaCraft\\GorillaCraft.dll with this one, start Gorilla Tag normally once (it updates the Minecraft mod in Prism), then start the GorillaCraft instance. Or copy the jar into the instance's mods folder yourself, replacing the old one.
