Everyone Owns Cloud Security. That's Why Nobody Does. #27

The Snowflake case is clean because it names the exact failure mode - four teams, four different mental models of ownership, one unguarded gap. What makes it structural rather than a one-time failure: every one of those assumptions made sense inside the team that held it. The problem was not negligence. It was that nobody had a mechanism for resolving the gap between what security policy says and what actually got implemented across the org. |

Everyone Owns Cloud Security. That's Why Nobody Does.
The shared responsibility model tells you where the cloud provider's obligations end. It says nothing about which team inside your organisation owns each control on your side of that line. That gap is where breaches live.
