Compás 1.0.1 — Keep counting in the background

Compás 1.0.1

Keep working with the window closed

On macOS, the red close button now hides the window while the active timer continues in the background. Work is still saved automatically. Click Compas in the Dock or choose Ventana → Mostrar Compás to return to the same session without pressing Continue.

Salir de Compás (⌘Q) still saves and pauses the timer before exiting. Putting the Mac to sleep also pauses it. A completed Pomodoro still prepares the next break without starting it automatically.

The desktop regression suite checks hidden-window timing and disk saves, Dock reopening, a real quit while hidden, and history recovery after restart.

Install

Download Compas-1.0.1-arm64.dmg for a Mac with Apple Silicon. Quit the existing app with ⌘Q before replacing it in Applications. Node.js is not required. The app remains signed ad hoc, without Apple notarization; see the installation instructions if macOS requests approval on first launch.

@ebotiab ebotiab released this 22 Sep 08:04

Compás 1.0.0

An offline Pomodoro timer and work-time tracker for macOS on Apple Silicon, with a Spanish interface.

Included

  • Configurable Pomodoro blocks, short and long breaks, and an open-ended stopwatch.
  • Session names, daily goals, a seven-day chart, daily history, and all-time totals.
  • Automatic local saves; partial work is kept, breaks are excluded, and midnight sessions are split by local date.
  • Pause on app close or Mac suspend, optional sound, CSV export, and JSON backups.

Install / Instalar

Download Compas-1.0.0-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Compas.app to Applications. No Node.js installation is required. The app works without internet after downloading.

Descarga el DMG, ábrelo y arrastra Compas.app a Aplicaciones. Funciona sin internet y no necesita cuenta.

The app is signed ad hoc, not notarized by Apple. macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway after the first launch attempt. See Apple's guidance. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.

Verification and limitations

The release was built from the tagged source and tested as a packaged application. Tests cover timer accounting, preferences, session history, restart persistence, offline reload, minimized timing, and a simulated native suspend event. SHA256SUMS.txt contains the installer checksum.

The initial binary is for Apple Silicon only. There is no backup import interface yet; intervals start manually. Intel, Windows, and Linux installers are not included.
