I have upgraded the requirements using Python 3.12 as part of our plan to upgrade the OS to Ubuntu 24.04. This upgrade requires both the Python version to be 3.12 and the minimum supported Ansible version to be 9.x. As the first step, I am focusing on upgrading the requirements with Python 3.12.

Make sure that the following steps are done before merging:

  • Have a Site Reliability Engineer review the PR if you don't own all of the services impacted.
  • If you are adding any new default values that need to be overridden when this change goes live, update internal repos and add an entry to the top of the CHANGELOG.
  • Performed the appropriate testing.
