TemporalHazard 1.2.14
Performance
This release removes the slowdown 1.2.13 recorded as a known limitation
(#631). Every estimate, standard error, prediction and bootstrap replicate is
bit-identical to 1.2.13's; only the time to compute them changes. The
package's own R CMD check --as-cran now takes about 400 seconds, where
1.2.13's took about 730.
-
Multiphase fits are about twice as fast again (#631). Since #578,
each evaluation of a phase formedlog(1 - G)and the hazard on the log
scale, which only a"hazard"phase reads, and formed some of it four
times over. A"cdf"phase now skips that work, and a"hazard"phase
withmandnuboth positive forms each piece once. On thecabgkul
data a fixed-shape three-phase fit takes 1.0 seconds against 1.75, and a
5-replicate bootstrap of it 3.4 seconds against 8.1. -
Fits under Conservation of Events are a further 20 to 25% faster
(#631). The gradient under CoE evaluates the score twice at each point
(#565), and the second evaluation now reuses the first's per-phase
quantities instead of recomputing them.hzr_log1pexp()forms each
branch only where it is taken, where it usedifelse(), which formed
both over every element; its values, attributes andNAs are unchanged
for every input.
Tests
- The repeated-events parity test of the cardioversion job now expects the
$untranslatedrow for itsPROC HAZPRED, which stands inside a
%MACROdefinition and has been refused since #625. Its two fits had
failed since that change. The test needs the study datasets, which no CI
runner has, so the failure was not reported. The package's behaviour is
unchanged.
