VerifyError while booting Elasticsearch with JDK24 and APM enabled

The SNAPSHOT images for 8.18, 8.19 and 9.0 started to fail booting after we bumped the JDK version to 24.
This was happening when APM was enabled _and_ configured to talk to an APM server via HTTPS (e.g. in our cloud deployments).
