Reply under the comment for the build you tested, so feedback stays with the build it is about. Only the newest build can be downloaded; the link above always serves it. When 3.7.9 is released this thread closes and dev builds move to a new one.

Before you install

• Windows SmartScreen will warn. The installer is unsigned. Choose More info → Run anyway.
• Raw capture is on by default. On a fresh config a dev build writes a raw FITS file and a calibration JSON for every frame into the raw_debug folder. On a rig capturing all night that adds up to real disk. Turn it off under Image Processing → Developer Mode → Enable Dev Mode. An existing config keeps whatever it already had.
• It replaces your installed Sentinel. Dev and production builds install to the same place and share %APPDATA%\PFRSentinel. This is not an upgrade path. The in-app updater never offers dev builds, and offers a release only once one newer than this build ships, such as the release this build leads up to. To get back to a supported build sooner, reinstall the latest release.
• Not supported. It exists to test a change before it ships. Please report what you find, but don't run an observatory you rely on with it.

Let me know how the guided star calibration goes. I just did mine, and it aligned even better. I named three stars and then it suggested the rest. Then you can keep adding stars to make sure the alignment is right

Testing AllSky solve in this build Sept 12 2006.
The blue circles and labels were very hard to read. The exposure in this window seems much brighter than my settings in other windows. Zooming in or mouse-over doesn't help see the labels. In the end I labeled 10 images... then randomly deleted the one that was most likely to be wrong. Given how fast the solve was, would be nice if It could try solving with one less by rotating through them. Alternatively... let me mute/disable one and try a solve without some without having to delete them. I got a new 'Preliminary Solve' with 9/10 stars, but it seems to have disabled the worst offender resulting in an 8-star solve with an RMS of 1.4px.

An option to change the contrast between the labels and background, or just the background, or just label size on this screen would have helped.

The biggest issue now is that the labels turn on and off through the night, even though the brighter stars seem to persist for most of that time. A couple paths could help this...

• If I could stabilize my exposure fluctuations when bright things show up (The Moon, Flashlights, etc.) it might help the labeler persist, though even if that was perfect the labels wouldn't be there at the start of the night. I am unclear how to restrict temporal brightness and Auto-stretch changes.
• If we could enable the labeler to solve with just the core brightest stars, and perhaps refine its solution once more show up that might work.
• If we could allow the solution to fly-wheel and keep its most recent solution when it loses an current/active solve that might be the most robust. Some kind of rating of the active solve could overpower the previous one if builds a higher rating, and the old one could lose rating over time so that its more easily overpowered by newer ratings.

Admittedly, its nice to see labels only exist once in the area where the sky is visible, but I think its ok to allow them to persist behind moving telescopes. It was fun to see Polaris for behind my pier... yet its never visible.

It was nice to see the star labels appear to the right of each star and maintain distance. It was confusing to see Saturns label to the left though... perhaps planets placing labels differently is confusing to the viewer?

I was in 3.7.9-dev.0 last night: Roof closed the entire night. Roof was correctly labeled as Closed, and NO star tracking falsely detected. I will update to dev.12 this morning.

• I noticed that toggling Weather/Units didnt seem to change the Overlays. Despite being in Imperial, I am seeing m/s not mph.

Moon offset and tracking were good. Generally the finished video feels like things are popping on and off a lot... not sure how to address that. A bit more persistence, some jitter control, and perhaps fading in and out would help. I might try limiting to fewer than 15 items to declutter.
The full Messier labels seem too long. When it just drops to the base M## designation it seems better, but I can see where the shorter names are fun.
Calibration seems good. I haven't had to update it... but can try if you want me to test it a bit.

What might work for the Messier targets... is if you chose to give them a common name, drop the Messier number as well but keep the color. The names are super fun, people that know Messier numbers will be able to relate the names to numbers, people can always look them up, the colors will tie it together for those who aren't sure, and in the end the super long tags will be short enough. So Andromeda Galaxy (M31) becomes Andromeda Galaxy.

I have also inserted mine into my Nina Night Summary... which helps when understanding where the scope physically was pointing while I read the stats. It makes me wonder if we couldn't publish some of these stats to the notes of the YouTube publish... or into a text stream across the bottom of the video.
