envsbot v2.3.0
envsbot 2.3.0 focuses on translation intelligence, message-history privacy, improved weather output, and maintainability.
Translate improvements
The translation system can now discover and cache provider capabilities.
- LibreTranslate, Google Cloud Translation, and DeepL capability information can be queried and cached.
- Providers known not to support a requested language pair can be skipped before sending the translation request.
- Unknown or stale capability information never disables a provider.
- Regional/BCP-47 language variants are handled conservatively instead of being rejected prematurely.
- Capability information is refreshed internally approximately every 12 hours.
,doctorexposes useful provider/capability status without revealing credentials.
Message-cache privacy
Message history now has clearer persistence and privacy semantics.
- Added configurable persistent history with
MESSAGE_CACHE_PERSIST. - Added XMPP Storage Hint handling with
MESSAGE_CACHE_RESPECT_NO_STORE. <no-store/>messages are not stored in memory or SQLite.<no-permanent-store/>messages remain available only in memory and are not persisted.- Disabling persistence clears existing persistent message-cache records at startup.
- Maximum-age retention is now enforced during runtime as well as during database maintenance.
Reply, sed, translation and related history-based functionality continue to work from the in-memory cache where applicable.
Weather
The ,weather output has been substantially improved.
Current conditions now include:
- weather condition
- temperature
- feels-like temperature
- humidity
- atmospheric pressure
- wind
- precipitation

- Help metadata/formatting was separated from command dispatch and registry logic.
- Architecture regression tests protect the new module boundaries.
- Release and wheel validation now use the shared envs-xmpp tooling.
- Coverage regression tracking has been added.
- Updated to envs-xmpp 1.5.0.
- Extensive regression and quality testing accompanies the changes.
