Crow 0.8.2: Crow in your language, and the fixes from testing every workflow against real servers.

Binaries: Linux x86_64 (install.sh puts Crow and its icon under ~/.local) and macOS Apple Silicon (an ad-hoc signed Crow.app: the first launch needs right-click → Open). Language packs: es.ftl (Spanish) and ja.ftl (Japanese), attached below.

Languages

  • Settings → Personalisation → Language. Crow is in English, and can be in any language someone writes a pack for. Drop a pack (es.ftl, ja.ftl) into ~/.config/crow/languages/, click RELOAD, pick it. Crow switches at once.
  • Spanish and Japanese packs are complete. Japanese uses your system's CJK font, or one the pack names.
  • Make your own: EXPORT ENGLISH TEMPLATE writes every message to translate; crow --check-language xx.ftl --missing shows what's left. Anything a pack lacks shows in English. How to write a pack.
  • A pack can't change what Crow does. Every message must keep English's placeholders and may not carry direction-override characters, or it shows in English. Danger prompts also show the English under a translation. Commands, config files and typed keywords (ROTATE, CONFIRM) stay as they are, and exported reports are written in English.

Fixes

  • Bastions: moving a server between direct and through-a-bastion takes effect at once; it used to keep the old route for up to 10 minutes. A bastion that servers still go through can't be archived.
  • Rollouts: creating a file in a folder that doesn't exist creates the folder, and rolling back removes it again.
  • Hardening: a disabled ufw (or any input chain that filters nothing) no longer counts as a firewall. "Fix everywhere · no-firewall" leaves out servers with no firewall tool to turn on, instead of stopping at them.
  • Keys: rotating the same key twice in a day works.
