v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Oct 13:07

TreeAMR v0.2.1

Diff since v0.2.0

TreeGRRMHD's mesh requests (#20). Additions only; existing code is unaffected.

  • A state vector over several field sets: statelength, statevector, statearray, scatter! and gather! take a tuple of field sets; staterange and stateview are new exports; volume_weighted_norm(sets, u).
  • map_blocks!(…; workgroupsize) passes a workgroup size to a device launch (ignored on the CPU).
  • Per-set boundary hooks in regrid!, fs => (schedule, hook).
  • adapt_to_initial_data! over several field sets at once.
  • Outflow faces, Forest(…; outflow = ((lo, hi), …)): zero-gradient ghosts filled by the schedule on every backend and across ranks, without a hook.
  • Bounded conservative prolongation, Operators(…; family = Conservative, prolongation = 3, bounded = true): the ghost fill and the regrid create no new extrema, and the transfer stays conservative and exact for linear data. Also accepted at prolongation = 1, which is bounded already.

The forest's face kinds moved into one field, which changes the companion interface: TreeIOHDF5 needs a release that accepts this version.

Merged pull requests:

  • TreeGRRMHD's AMR requests: multi-set state, per-set hooks, outflow faces, bounded prolongation (#20) (@eschnett)

v0.2.0

TreeAMR v0.2.0

Diff since v0.1.8

Breaking change:

Checkpointing/recovery has moved into a new package TreeIOHDF5.

Merged pull requests:

  • 0.2.0: move the checkpoints into the companion package TreeIOHDF5 (#19) (@eschnett)

v0.1.8

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Oct 19:52

TreeAMR v0.1.8

Diff since v0.1.7

Faster copy kernels, chiefly on a device (#18). On a device, scatter!, gather! and the ghost fill launch over one axis with precomputed 32-bit inverses instead of 64-bit divisions, and pure copies skip their weights. H200, 20 variables, G = 3, 512 × 32³: scatter! 0.335 → 0.140 ns/point, gather! 0.441 → 0.136, fill_ghosts! 0.399 → 0.296. On the CPU, one-thread scatter!/gather! are about 3× faster. Results are bit-identical to 0.1.7; no API change.

Merged pull requests:

  • Copy kernels at bandwidth on a device: scatter 2–3x faster, fill 1.3x on an H200 (#18) (@eschnett)
