Bubbly 3.1 makes the www host optional, so subdomains and sites without www no longer need to hand-edit it out.
Upgrade Warnings
- The
www→ apex HTTPS redirect has moved out ofbubbly_https.confinto its own template,sites-available/bubbly_www.conf. Existing site files keep working as they are. If you make a newexample.com_https.conffrom the 3.1 template and your certificate nameswww, also copy, edit and enablebubbly_www.conf, orhttps://www.example.comstops redirecting.
Feature
- Fix #41: Make
wwwsetup and redirects optional.bubbly_https.confserves the apex alone,bubbly_www.confadds thewwwredirect when it's wanted, andbubbly_http.confmarkswwwas an[OPTION], with a[WARNING]to remove it for subdomains. - The landing page has a toggle for the optional
www, which adds or removes it from every copyable command.
Improvement
- The README covers leaving off
-d www.example.comwhen renewing, and adds the steps to enablebubbly_www.conf.
Supporting
- Install eustasy/.Normal 5.0, with Markdown, JavaScript and shell scripts formatted to match, and its line-ending normalization adopted in
.gitattributes. The scripts changed only in whitespace. - The nginx CI checks every site template, and that
wwwredirects to the apex over both HTTP and HTTPS. - Document why the nginx container image and two shell idioms are intentional.
