KagNode Mail 0.3.0 — Token API

Choose a tag to compare

@every-lemon every-lemon released this 30 Oct 10:40

KagNode Mail now provides a scoped token API for server integrations. The repository is now every-lemon/mail; KagNode Mail branding, the logo, themes, and existing server paths are unchanged.

  • Admin-issued, single-mailbox tokens with independent read/send/write/permanent-delete permissions and explicit sender restrictions.
  • Send, list/search, read, download attachments, save/replace drafts, update flags, move, and delete mail through /api/v1.
  • Token secrets shown once; configurable expiry, replacement, immediate revocation, and automatic revocation on password changes or account disablement.
  • Internal credentials restricted to private mail listeners; public IMAP/SMTP reject them. Sender permissions are rechecked at the end of SMTP DATA.
  • Token administration in light/dark/mobile layouts, plus OpenAPI, curl, and Python documentation.

API guide · OpenAPI · Validation

Targets a fresh Ubuntu Server 24.04 installation. This release changes the database and mail authentication configuration together; copying application files over a 0.2 installation is not a supported upgrade. API tokens and browser sessions are excluded from backups, so integrations need new tokens after restoration.

Sending acceptance is distinct from delivery. Uncertain submissions are reported explicitly; do not automatically retry them. No idempotency keys or webhooks are included.

Validation: 137 regression tests, browser checks, OpenAPI validation, and native Postfix/Dovecot API integration passed. The isolated core stack measured 82.2 MiB PSS after two minutes idle, excluding OS/cache/fail2ban; a subsequent 30-second sample measured 0.033% of one CPU core.

GitHub validation passed: application/browser and native Ubuntu mail jobs both succeeded on commit 3083a501b0634d41a29ad889f544b2732c36bf83.
