Issue: #52, fixed in 6575104 (on
main, not yet in a release). What went wrong
When an exported
.3mfwas opened in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, the slicer threw away TailWag's print settings and used its "0.20mm Standard" preset instead: 0.20 mm layers instead of 0.08 mm, and the 100% infill, shell, wall and prime tower settings reset too. A filament painting meant to print in about 30 thin layers sliced as about 12 thick ones, so the colours came out wrong, often mostly one colour. How to tell if you were affected
Open an exported
.3mffrom TailWag 1.2.0 or earlier in Bambu Studio and look at Process > Quality > Layer height. If it shows 0.20 and the Quality tab is not highlighted as changed, the settings were reset. Until the next release you can set layer height to 0.08 mm, first layer to 0.16 mm and sparse infill to 100% (aligned rectilinear) by hand before slicing.Root cause
Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer only keep a project setting if it is listed in
different_settings_to_system[0]inMetadata/project_settings.config. Anything not listed is reset to the system preset when the project opens. TailWag wrote the right values but only listed three settings (infill pattern and two support settings). The list also had a fixed length that only matched 4-filament projects.Fix
