Excord 0.0.1-alpha.1 adds Favorites and changes macOS release signing so future updates can keep a consistent signing identity.

Updating on macOS

If you have an earlier alpha installed, quit Excord, download this release's DMG, and replace Excord in Applications. This one-time manual installation moves the app from the old ad-hoc signature to the persistent certificate. Keep your existing profile to preserve your settings and login.

The app is self-signed and is not Apple-notarized. macOS may still require you to approve opening it. No Apple Developer membership is used. Future releases must reuse this certificate for in-app updates to work.

Changes

• ExcordFavorites adds a star below Home. Add channels, threads, DMs, and group DMs through their context menus, then organize them into categories. Favorites saves its layout locally per account and uses Discord's native conversation views. See the Favorites guide.
• Mac release packages now use one persistent signing certificate. Settings explains signature rejections and directs you to a manual installer instead of offering retries of the same rejected package.
• Release checks verify the signing identity and updater ZIP. A native signing test checks compatibility between changed versions and rejects a different signer.

Downloads

Use the macOS arm64 DMG for Apple silicon or the Windows x64 Setup executable. ZIP archives, matching source, updater metadata, and SHA256SUMS are included. This remains an alpha release; live account, voice, and screen-sharing behavior is not fully covered by automated tests.

On Mac, run bash favorites-dev-launch.command from Terminal in that folder. On Windows, double-click favorites-dev-launch.cmd. The launcher uses a separate excord-favorites-dev profile, so sign in again. Quit the test app before reopening installed Excord. Do not install updates from the test build.

Quick check: add channels from two servers plus a DM, group DM, forum, thread, and voice channel; visit them while Favorites stays open; drag entries and categories; restart and check persistence; receive messages and mentions and compare badges with the original channels; check mute behavior; disable/re-enable the plugin. Excord v0.0.0-alpha2

Adds ExcordVisualizations, an optional plugin for interactive HTML previews directly in Discord messages.

• Render uploaded .html/.htm files and complete html or html-render code blocks inline.
• Limit rendering to selected users, channels, or guilds using MessageLogger-style ID lists, with an "Only apply to bots" option.
• Match Discord/Excord's active theme, including light/dark mode, scoped themes, and QuickCSS changes, without reloading the visualization.
• Display prepared HTML exported from T3 Code using its existing theme and resize protocol. Send the HTML file itself; visualization links are not preview inputs.

Enable ExcordVisualizations in Discord Settings → Plugins. It is disabled by default. Previews run in sandboxed frames, and hiding a preview or disabling the plugin unloads them.

Download the Mac DMG or Windows Setup below. Existing installations can use Check for updates in Excord Settings. Downloads and installation require an explicit choice.

First alpha in the new version sequence, with one update track.

Download the Mac DMG or Windows Setup directly. Kits are discontinued.

Updates are in Excord Settings. Checks run quietly after launch; downloads require a click. Once downloaded, choose Install when I quit or Restart and update. Closing to the tray does not install anything. Launch never waits on the updater, and update failures stay in Settings.

Includes personal TypeScript plugins, the embedded Developer Portal, and disabled plugin announcement popups.

Both native jobs passed unit tests, type checking, package and update-metadata checks, installer/reinstallation checks, plugin integration, recovery, and hidden-window/WebRTC tests. Verification run.
