familiar 1.0.2
Download
familiar-workspace-1.0.2.zip: the workspace. Unzip it, give the folder your project's name, and open your agent inside it. Start with/ili-project-status check-in.familiar-demo-1.0.2.zip(optional): a fictional project after a few weeks of use.

What changed
- A check before figures leave the project. When a deliverable is about to use numbers from knowledge pages that were never checked against their source, the drafting skills name those pages and offer the check first. You can go ahead without it.
- Knowledge pages link to their full text. A page's
source_idnow points to its extracted text, and the project check reports pages and extracts that are not linked. - Clearer documentation. The guide, install notes and manuals are rewritten to be shorter and plainer, and the skills page explains every skill's branches.
Updating
From 1.0.1: put this zip in your project's _update/ folder and run /ili-system-settings update. From 1.0.0: see the 1.0.1 notes.
familiar 1.0.1
Download
familiar-workspace-1.0.1.zip: the workspace. Unzip it, give the folder your project's name, and open your agent inside it. Start with/ili-project-status check-in.familiar-demo-1.0.1.zip(optional): a fictional project after a few weeks of use.
Guide and skills quick reference: https://familiar-md.github.io/familiar/
What changed
- Simpler updates. Projects now have an
_update/folder. Drop the new release zips in it (core, any extension, the hooks package) and run/ili-system-settings update. Everything updates in one run, your edits are kept, and every replaced file is backed up. - Signature at the first check-in. A new project no longer needs a separate Preferences step.
- Your own skills follow familiar's rules while they run in a familiar project.
- Knowledge page fields tidied:
volatilityremoved, typeis a fixed list, citation fields work for every source type, and the project check reports pages past their review date.
Updating from 1.0.0
The 1.0.0 updater does not read _update/ yet. For this one update, unzip familiar-workspace-1.0.1.zip anywhere outside your project, run /ili-system-settings update and tell it where the folder is. From 1.0.1 on, use _update/. Details: INSTALL.md → Updating.
familiar 1.0.0 — first public release
A project-memory and workflow layer that makes AI agents instantly familiar with your work, progress, and decisions.
familiar is a plain folder. Rename it to your project, open your AI coding agent inside it, and every session starts from the project's own record (what it is, what has been decided, what is open, and where each fact came from) instead of from nothing. Everything is Markdown and a few small scripts: no account, no server, nothing stored outside the folder.
Download
familiar-workspace-1.0.0.zip: the workspace. Unzip it, give the folder your project's name, and open your agent inside it. Start with/ili-project-status check-in.familiar-demo-1.0.0.zip(optional): a fictional project after a few weeks of use, so you can see what a living project looks like and ask it questions.

What is in it
- Eight skills: project status, ingest, deliverable briefs, drafting, save, handoff, online research and settings.
- Project memory with one home per fact: status, tasks, timeline, meetings, decisions and handoffs.
- Source ingest with a page or section locator on every claim.
- Word, PowerPoint and Excel output, versioned and never overwritten.
- An in-place updater and a preflight check that prints the fix for each problem.
- An open extension contract for adding your own specialty.
Works with
Built and tested with Claude Code. It follows the open AGENTS.md and agent skills conventions and carries the files Codex and Gemini CLI look for. Each agent needs its own account; the agent you open in the folder sends what it reads to its own provider, under that provider's terms.
Also released
familiar-hub (one view across all your projects), familiar-hooks (optional session titles and guards) and familiar-template (a starter for your own extension).
