What's Changed

  • perf: give plain string arrays their own copy-then-JSON.stringify cutoff by @Tony133 in #905

Plain string arrays now use their own cutoff for the copy-then-JSON.stringify path (8 elements on Node.js 22+, 128 on Node.js 20), like number and integer arrays. Above the cutoff they serialize 2-3x faster on Node.js 22/24 and up to 3.5x faster on Node.js 26. Output is unchanged.

Note: largeArraySize now only affects largeArrayMechanism: 'json-stringify'; under the default mechanism primitive arrays use the runtime-dependent cutoffs documented in the README.
