Vision 0.1.2
Faster start, and releases now come straight from GitHub Actions.
Install: download com.vision.launcher_0.1.2_arm.ipk below and install it with Homebrew Channel or the webOS Dev Manager (it updates earlier versions in place; settings are kept). Requires a rooted LG webOS TV with Homebrew Channel. SHA256SUMS lists the package's checksum.
Changes
- Startup: the packed glyph atlas is kept on disk, so Vision no longer rasterises its fonts on every start. On an LG CX the first frame now appears about 250 ms after start instead of about 430 ms. The first start after an update or a language change builds the cache once.
- The log shows a startup breakdown (SDL, window and GL, glyphs, home screen).
- Builds: every release package is built by GitHub Actions from the tagged source.
Vision 0.1.1
Fixes from the first days on the TV.
Install: download com.vision.launcher_0.1.1_arm.ipk below and install it with Homebrew Channel or the webOS Dev Manager (it updates 0.1.0 in place; settings are kept). Requires a rooted LG webOS TV with Homebrew Channel.
Changes
- Magic Remote: the pointer is visible again, and a resting remote no longer pulls the focus away from where the arrow keys put it.
- Live preview: Vision releases the video decoder before any other app starts, whether it is launched from Vision, a remote button or an input switch. Before, the preview and the app could briefly compete for the decoder.
- TiviOne: a failed release check is retried after 15 minutes instead of six hours.
