I went through the code on main. The two screens do use different limits: the settings form caps Min SOC at 30% for your battery, while the entity under Controls allows 12 to 50%. I can't say if that difference is intended. The 50% from Controls is really used though. The Venus D has no hardware cutoff, so the value goes straight to the One catch: the settings form pre-fills the value clamped to 30, so if you open that form and save it, Min SOC goes back to 30%. For a winter reserve, set it under Controls and set it again if you save that form later. I read this on main rather than on 1.5.1b, and I haven't run it on a real battery. |

What do you need help with?
Entities, sensors, or controls
What are you trying to do?
Min Soc for winter, i have no dynamic energy supplier yet. Do not want to report a bug, before asking
What is happening instead?
Hi ffunes,
I noticed something odd in Omnibattery 1.5.1b and wanted to check whether this is intentional or a bug.
In General Settings, the Min SOC slider is limited to 30%. Entering a higher value manually is rejected as invalid.
However, under Battery → Controls, the Min SOC slider also starts at 30%, but I can move it up to 50%.
Is the different behaviour of the Min SOC setting intentional, or should both screens enforce the same 30% limit? If I set Min SOC to 50% under Battery → Controls, will Omnibattery actually use that value, or could it be overwritten by the general settings?
I’m asking because I’m considering using a higher minimum SOC as a winter reserve.
Thanks!
Your setup
Omnibattery version: 1.5.1b
Model: Venus D --> 4 Packs
BMS: 118
VMS: 115
EMS: 147
What have you already tried?
I also enabled the Max Charge Power and Max Discharge Power entities. These add two sliders under Battery → Controls. Changing the discharge limit from 600 W to 800 W is correctly reflected in the general settings, so that synchronisation appears to work as expected.
