Summary
Now that 1.5.1 has been released we can move 1.6.x into main as the head of development. This release is tentatively scheduled for release in the next couple weeks, if there is a need to release for 1.5.x we can cut a separate branch to manage that.
This will reduce our active lines of development to 2 (main and the LID release)
