Runlet 0.4.0 brings databases beyond your application's own connection, Redis and MongoDB, and in-app updates.

Install or update

  • From 0.3.0 or older (and 0.4.0 betas 1–6): download the DMG, drag Runlet to Applications to replace the old copy, and remove the quarantine flag as in the readme's First launch. It's ad-hoc signed, so on first launch right-click Runlet and choose Open, or allow it in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security.
  • From 0.4.0 beta 7 or 8: use Runlet ▸ Check for Updates… and choose Install and Relaunch.
  • From now on, Runlet updates itself. Settings ▸ General ▸ Updates has the channel: Stable (releases only) or Beta (pre-releases too).

Databases

  • Saved connections: MySQL and MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server and custom DSNs, with passwords in the Keychain. They can be read-only, go through an SSH profile's tunnel, or connect from this Mac (Runlet picks the first local PHP that has the driver).
  • SQL tabs: bound parameters with a parameters drawer, Explain plans, Load Next past the 1,000-row cap, every result set, CSV export of a whole query and CSV import, and Stop on the database server.
  • The Database pane: the schema explorer with Show Definition, Browse Table with reviewed row edits, Show Relations (the foreign key diagram), and a Server section with version, sizes and sessions.
  • Redis tabs: saved and application connections, a key browser, a server panel, and completion for commands, options and keys.
  • MongoDB tabs: queries as structured JSON, collection reads, and Load More.
  • Builders (View ▸ Show Builder, ⌥⌘B) for Redis commands and MongoDB queries. Both write text into the editor and never run anything.
  • The Connection Manager: every open connection, SSH tunnel and run, including runs queued for a free slot.
  • Importing saved connections from TablePlus, behind a feature flag.

Also new

  • Code navigation in PHP tabs: Go to Definition (F12), Find References (⇧F12), code actions (⌥↩), inlay hints and folding.
  • Log viewer (View ▸ Logs, ⌘L): a target's log files, parsed and watched, and a container's or server's logs after Follow.
  • Dry Run: runs a PHP tab inside database transactions that are always rolled back. MySQL statements that would commit at once are refused.
  • Source excerpts in error cards, and expandable stack frames.
  • The snippet API: \Runlet\notice(), warning() and error() cards, with a reference.
  • Mail: WordPress mail in the run inspector, with Intercept Mail; the mail chip shows the mail mode and switches it.
  • Editor: Format Code (⌥⇧⌘F), Promote a snippet to an Artisan command or test, notifications for long runs, and moving and duplicating lines (⌥↑/⌥↓, ⇧⌥↑/⇧⌥↓).
  • A guided tour on first launch, and What's New after updates, with Show Me tours (Help ▸ Show Tour, Help ▸ What's New).
  • Runlet's PHP r3 adds ext-mongodb.
