Repository navigation
Install
Needs a rooted TV with Homebrew Channel (root status OK).
Homebrew Channel: Settings → Add repository, enter
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fivefold3/webos-homebrew-repo/main/repo.json,
then install LG Input Mapper from the list. Updates show up there too.
Manually over SSH: download com.lginputmapper.app_1.1.0_all.ipk below, then
ssh root@<tv-ip> 'cat > /tmp/com.lginputmapper.app_1.1.0_all.ipk' < com.lginputmapper.app_1.1.0_all.ipk
ssh root@<tv-ip> "luna-send -n 1 luna://com.webos.appInstallService/dev/install '{\"id\":\"com.ares.defaultName\",\"ipkUrl\":\"/tmp/com.lginputmapper.app_1.1.0_all.ipk\",\"subscribe\":true}' </dev/null"The app appears in the launcher a few seconds later.
Either way, open LG Input Mapper once afterwards: it sets itself up and
starts at boot from then on.
What's new in 1.1.0
Updated implementation & remap wake from sleep action (1.1.0)
Buttons that turn the TV on from standby now follow your mappings too.
The app does this through the TV's own settings and puts them back as
soon as they are no longer needed.
Buttons that turn the TV on
- Streaming buttons that wake the TV from standby (Netflix, Prime Video,
Disney+, LG Channels, ...) now follow their mappings: "Launch an app"
and "Switch to an input" open it straight away, "Act as another
button" and "Run a command" happen once the TV is on, and "Do nothing"
keeps the TV off. - New "Allow from standby" option per mapping, on by default. Turned
off, the button no longer turns the TV on but keeps its mapping while
the TV is on. - Buttons that cannot turn the TV on are marked "From standby: not
supported". - The TV's own behaviour for these buttons comes back when a mapping is
removed, the remapper is stopped or the app is uninstalled. Needs
webOS 6 (2021) or newer.
Mappings
- Loops of "Act as another button" mappings (A acts as B, B acts as A)
are shown in red and do nothing until one of them is deleted or
changed. - More streaming buttons are shown by name.
App
- Added launch screen with the app logo instead of default grey one.
- The "Start at boot" setting is gone: the remapper always starts at
boot.
Fixes
- After a reboot the app could fail to start with "not permitted to send
to com.lginputmapper.app.service". The service's permissions now match
how webOS names the app, and the app repairs them itself if needed. - Uninstalling now removes everything the app stored, including your
mappings and its boot script, leaving no trace of the app.
