Release list
v1.0.0-rc.2
d4lc 1.0.0-rc.2
Versions with an -rc.N suffix are release candidates for public
testing, not stable 1.0 releases. X11 is the primary target.
Back up settings and presets before testing and report problems
with the exact version. Wayland remains experimental.
Highlights
- Native Linux port of Diablo4Companion v5.4.0.0 in Rust: no .NET,
Wine or VM. - Affix, trade and paragon overlays.
- UI languages: German, English, Spanish, French and Simplified
Chinese. Simplified Chinese needs a system CJK font (for example
Noto Sans CJK). - Settings live in
~/.config/d4lc(orD4LC_CONFIG_ROOT).
Artifacts
- Linux tarball:
d4lc-1.0.0-rc.2-linux-x86_64.tar.gz - Debian package:
d4lc_1.0.0-rc.2_amd64.deb - AppImage:
d4lc-1.0.0-rc.2-x86_64.AppImage - Checksums:
SHA256SUMS
Primary payload
- The user-facing entry point is the Slint desktop app
(d4lc-app), installed as/usr/bin/d4lcby the .deb
and launched by the AppImageAppRun. - The debug CLI (
d4lc-cli) is bundled as
/usr/bin/d4lc-debug//opt/d4lc/bin/d4lc-debugfor
debug workflows. It is not the primary user-facing app.
Runtime requirements
- x86_64 Linux with glibc 2.35 or newer (the artifacts are built
on Ubuntu 22.04). - Linux X11 session with
DISPLAYset for the primary capture
and overlay path. - X server with SHAPE; MIT-SHM is the preferred capture path,
with XGetImage as the fallback. - The bundle includes OCR libraries and upstream tessdata packs.
A customTESSDATA_PREFIXoverrides the bundled packs. The
runtime requirements file lists remaining host dependencies. - Wayland (experimental): the build compiles ScreenCast-portal
capture via thewayland-portalfeature (PipeWire); runtime
hosts needxdg-desktop-portalwith a PipeWire backend.
Wayland capture is synthetic-validated only; X11 remains the
supported release target for capture/overlay parity. On
Wayland-only hosts the desktop launcher may still start via
XWayland.
Upstream provenance

The licence and provenance documents are in thedocs/folder of
the bundle (/opt/d4lc/docs, also reachable as
/usr/share/doc/d4lcin the .deb). -
Upstream LICENSE:
docs/upstream-LICENSE(MIT), taken from the

Rust dependency notices:
docs/rust-dependency-notices.html
(generated from the locked manifest with cargo-about); the
royalty-free Slint desktop licence text ships as
docs/slint-LICENSE. -
Bundled tessdata: Apache-2.0, see
docs/tessdata-LICENSEand
docs/tessdata-provenance.md. -
Overlay font: Inconsolata Bold 3.000 is embedded (used when the
system has no Consolas Bold), SIL Open Font License 1.1, see
docs/Inconsolata-OFL.txtanddocs/bundled-fonts.json. -
Bundled libraries: the licence texts of the shared libraries
shipped inlib/(Tesseract, Leptonica and their image-codec
chain) are indocs/third-party/<package>.copyright, and
docs/bundled-libs.txtlists the library files.
Validation status
Build commit: 1c8c6e2d20adc015320b8bf8751fef1a98a2f8f5. Before this draft was created,
the release workflow ran on exactly this commit:
- the full verification (formatting, Clippy, unit and integration
tests including recorded-frame OCR, headless GUI pilots, the
desktop visual smoke under Xvfb, the minimum-Rust-version build,
cargo denyand the upstream asset parity check); - the packaged startup smoke test of these artifacts under Xvfb;
- installation of the .deb on clean Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04.
Known limitations / help wanted
- Not all character classes, builds, resolutions or game languages
have been tested in a live game session. - Trading and the trade overlay are not validated end to end.
- Rune recognition and data coverage need live-game validation.
- Windows has not been tested; these artifacts are Linux-only.
Not covered by this workflow:
- A live Diablo IV session on X11 with these artifacts. Earlier
versions were checked in a live game session; whether this
release was, is recorded in the release description below, not
implied by this list. - Imports from the live provider sites through a real browser
(D2Core, D4Builds, Mobalytics): the workflow uses recorded
provider data only. - A real Wayland session: Wayland capture and overlay are covered
by automated protocol tests only.
Benchmark / validation links
- Detection, OCR scheduling, and hot-path performance benchmark
evidence is kept outside the repository and is not part of
this bundle.
