Release accompanying the version of the paper accepted at PLOS CB

This release accompanies the version of the paper that has been accepted at PLOS Computational Biology (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1007593).

Changes

• Optimization functionality moved into a separate function optimize_design which can be called directly from Matlab, without reference to external config files
• fit_models modified such that it supports sequential model fitting (making dependency on the Parallel Computing Toolbox optional)
• Added BIC annotation for figures featuring model selection
• Added computation of odds ratios (ORs) for model selection scenarios
• Added the tutorial notebook for Scenario 2
• Linked to the Zenodo DOI and the PLOS CB DOI
