Version 2.0
Version 2.0.0 is a big update. Remember that you need to run this version in order to transfer files with LocalSend v.1.18 or superior.
It introduces the following things:
- All versions now use OpenSSL instead of Schannel for RT
- Now the tray icon has a right click menu where you can drop files in, and quickly select a device to send these files to
- Completed the full translation in italian and english
- Added Simplified Chinese translation (thanks @BluestacksPenguin)
- Fixed a bug where it wouldn't see other devices on the network if you were connected with a VPN or a mobile hotspot
- Now the app checks on RT on first run if it has correctly added the firewall rules or not
- Fixed a bug where the send files button was enabled only when clicking on a device, and not on a checkbox
- Now you can cancel sending jobs
- Errors as to why something isn't sending or stuff is more descriptive
- You can choose to recursive add files and folders when adding a folder to send
- Network status in the Receive tab now dynamically change according to your network status
- Improved the code with more comments and more separation
- Created versions for NT 3.51 and superior (9x), and ARM64
- Created a new chm guide which lists down notes, procedures, and common issues
- When manually entering a IP address or hashtag, it checks for its syntax in order for it to be correct
In order to "update" from previous versions of LocalSend32, you can just download the exe, and then substitute the old version with this. As always, issues to be fixed in the future or translations are more than welcome!
Version 1.1
Version 1.1 adds these new features:
- Multi-device sending of files, by selecting multiple devices under the Send tab with checkboxes
- Languages support in utils.c with the language selector under Settings also
- LocalSend32 checks at startup if the OpenSSL DLLs are present in the folder, and if not, shows an error
- Fixed a bug where some UI elements could become empty when not interacting with it, or only after changing languages
- Refactored main.c into more sub-files: settings for Settings, ui_creator for Win32 controls, openssl_dyn for dynamically resolving TLS functions at runtime
Remember to have OpenSSL's libcrypto-3.dll and libssl-3.dll in the same folder for LocalSend32. I tested it only with DiscordMessenger's OpenSSL fork.
Version 1.0
This is the first release of LocalSend32/LocalSendRT! Features new icon, and a few bug fixes.
Tested on, and sure that it works on:
- Windows 2000 SP4
- Windows RT 8.1
- Windows 8.1 64-bit
- Wine/Whisky on macOS
As always, for the 32-bit version, you need the OpenSSL DLLs from the forked OpenSSL of DiscordMessenger. Attached to this release are the two DLLs you need, compiled directly from the project. You can also compile your own ones, just remember that they need to have the same name.
Pre-release
The main features of the app do work, but may need more bug tests and/or fixes.
Still missing an icon, I still have no idea what to do :/
Files uploaded:
- libcrypto-3.dll and libssl-3.dll: directly downloaded from DiscordMessenger OpenSSL release page. Needed only for LocalSend32
- LocalSend32: 32-bit version for x86 Windows
- LocalSend RT: ARMv7 version for Windows RT. No other file necessary, uses system APIs
