• The better-sqlite3 adapter refuses to open better-sqlite3 13 or later on a runtime without Node-API 10 (Node.js older than 22.14 or 23.6, Electron older than 35), where its binding crashes the process inside new Database(), and resolveStorageAdapter goes on to the next adapter, sql.js by default. 0.6.9 said that version 13 needs Node.js 22 or later; it needs Node-API 10: Node.js 22.14+ or 23.6+, or Electron 35+.
• The README says that npm can run node-gyp rebuild for better-sqlite3 13 although it ships prebuilt binaries: always when it installs from a lockfile, and on some platforms on a fresh install too.
