Release list
Moshe 0.5.0
Writing by voice. Turn it on in Settings › Voice, then talk: what you say is typed, and a whole sentence on its own between pauses can be a command, such as “select the storm”, “make that bold”, “synonyms” or “scratch that”. On the Mac (macOS 26) it uses Apple's own dictation, on Android the phone's recognizer, and anywhere else Whisper in the page. Also: the S Pen's button closes the round pen menu as well as opening it.
Moshe 0.4.2
Text boxes on a handwritten page (the T tool), and handwriting turned into text: draw round it with the lasso and press To Text, or Read the Whole Page as Text. English is read on any device, offline; Hebrew is read by Google's reader in the Android app. The Android app is now for 64-bit phones and tablets.
Moshe 0.4.1
The S Pen's button works in the Android app: click it with the pen just above a handwritten page for the round pen menu, and hold it while you write to erase.
Moshe 0.4.0
Handwriting like Samsung Notes: seven pens and a highlighter, the lasso (move, resize, copy, restyle), an eraser that cuts strokes, the S Pen's button and its round pen menu, shapes that snap clean when you hold the pen still, page colours (dark ones too), Cornell paper, pages, pinch to zoom and reading mode. And focus mode (⌘.): only the page, typed or handwritten, with the bars back when you go up to them or tap.
Moshe 0.3.0
Handwritten sheets. A new sheet can be a page you just write on, like a notebook: press the pen button next to New Sheet. Nothing gets turned into text, and the page grows as you write, on lined, blank, dotted or grid paper. When you want to, Type It Up puts the text beside the page so you can type it in. Each page is saved as an Excalidraw drawing, so Obsidian's Excalidraw plugin opens it too, with a picture of it in the sheet.
Moshe 0.2.3
Better on a tablet: Moshe's top bars now sit below the status bar instead of under the clock and battery, and the editor gets the whole screen, upright or sideways, with the library and sheets sliding over it when you open them. Back on Android closes menus, dialogs, Settings, the sliding panes and the dashboard before it leaves Moshe. The pen button is gone, since the tablet's own handwriting already does that job.
Moshe 0.2.2
On a tablet, the markup bar now sits above the on-screen keyboard too, the same as on a phone, with the buttons in the middle. It's hidden when you use a keyboard case. There's a new Sketch button on it, and Insert Sketch… is in the menu you get by long-pressing the text.
Moshe 0.2.1
A small release, to check that updates arrive on their own. Moshe works just the same as in 0.2.0.
Moshe 0.2.0
The first release of Moshe for the Mac and Android, which means they can keep themselves up to date now: Obtainium on Android, and brew on the Mac.
New in this one, you can edit with a pen: strike through words, scribble over them, draw a caret and write what's missing, or circle words and leave a comment, all as the same revision marks the menus write. And you can draw sketches that stay in your folder as pictures. It's all in The pen.
