Build Fail - Framework not found DCTAuth

I have followed the steps in the README.md up to and including the Handle Deep Linking > Adding URL Schemes.

Upon running the build in XCode I get the following build error:

ld: warning: directory not found for option '-F/Users/<myuser>/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/MyProject-dbvhqacaurmqvphbjpokfiwipcsy/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/DCTAuth'
ld: framework not found DCTAuth
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

Edit: Running Xcode 7.3.1, React Native v0.37.0, CocoaPods v1.1.1 on Mac OSX 10.11.5

Any ideas on how to resolve?

Hey, yes... did you use cocoapods?

Make sure you:

1. run (cd iOS && pod install)
2. Open the .xcworkspace file, not the .xproj

Ok that was not clear from the README, I wasn't aware that I needed to cd into iOS directory when running pod install, and the instructions didn't explain what .xcworkspace was for (remember, your target audience for react-native are going to JS engineers who aren't necessarily familiar with Xcode and iOS native development).

I am now getting the same build errors as detailed in #8

Edit I updated the README to be a bit more explicit. Does that work?
And is pod DCTAuth in your ios/Podfile?

I am using npm, looking at mypackage.json I have react-native-oauth v2.0.0.

Looking at my ios/Podfile I can see the following line:

pod 'DCTAuth', :git => 'https://github.com/danielctull/DCTAuth.git'

@auser im seeing the same issue as @matt-d-rat. I see:

pod 'DCTAuth', :git => 'https://github.com/danielctull/DCTAuth.git'

in my Podfile and am using npm as well:

"react-native-oauth": "^2.0.1"

More info on my versions: XCode 8.1 (8B62) / RN 0.33.0. @matt-d-rat is totally correct. I'm primarily a JS dev and not very savvy with the xcode/ios setup so debugging this is probably going to take me a while. Here's the warning I'm seeing from the linker:

Also, I must admit, I didn't quite understand what you meant by "open the created .xcworkspace in the ios/ directory". What does opening this file do? Here are the contents of the file that was generated for me:

Some more clues:

• In the Project Navigator > Frameworks > Pods_MyApp.framework shows up in red.
• Here's what my debug scheme xcconfig file contains:

OTHER_CFLAGS = $(inherited) -iquote "$PODS_CONFIGURATION_BUILD_DIR/DCTAuth/DCTAuth.framework/Headers"
OTHER_LDFLAGS = $(inherited) -framework "DCTAuth"

• Pod install seems to be running fine:

$ pod install
Analyzing dependencies
Downloading dependencies
Using DCTAuth (3.0)
Generating Pods project
Integrating client project
Sending stats
Pod installation complete! There is 1 dependency from the Podfile and 1 total pod installed.

I'm trying to build my app for TestFlight but am getting this similar error. It's working great in dev mode but when I'm building for app store (using fastlane) I'm getting: ld: framework not found DCTAuth

I've tried linking the DCTAuth framework in the Link Binary with Libraries section and it still didn't work.

Thoughts?

Hm... not sure... my guess is it has to do with the Pods not being installed for the archive version of the app. Can you check to make sure they are set for the environment?

Hmm - what exactly do you mean by that? The only pod we have is the the one from this lib. What would be the easiest way to check?

Edit: N/m -- I've got it all working - I was pointing the the xcodeproj instead of the xcworkspace in my Fastfile.

I have this issue too. The app works fine in dev mode (react-native run-ios), but when I build it to run on my phone, I get this error. I've run yarn install react-native-oauth, react-native link react-native-oauth, and (cd ios && pod install). This is my error in xcode:

ld: warning: directory not found for option '-F/Users/tomas/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/iGotBerries-gzlorpnjltitifawgcvsybydcaiq/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/DCTAuth'

I don't see DCTAuth in the Debug-iphoneos folder.

I had same problem, pod install somehow did not recognize DCTAuth dependency and update works for me.

try pod repo update && pod install
