Install
- Download the

You only need to do this once.
From 3.0.0-beta-2 on, StockBar updates itself: when a new version is out, click Update to … in the sidebar
(or Settings → Updates) and it downloads, installs and relaunches — no need to come back here.
New in 3.0: an AI tab to ask about your portfolio and expenses. Choose its engine in Settings → AI:
Apple Intelligence (macOS 26), a local model that runs on your Mac (Qwen3 4B, 2,5 GB, downloaded from Settings),
or your own OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek or Google Gemini key.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

StockBar 3.0.0-beta-1
Pre-release. This is a beta of StockBar 3.0: the new finance pages are ready to try, but may still change. The app shows its version as 3.0.0.
What's new in 3.0.0-beta-1
StockBar now tracks where your money goes, not just where it's invested. Everything comes from the banks and cards you already connected through Open Finance (Meu Pluggy).
- Expenses: every card, account and PIX transaction of a month, sorted into categories. Pick a category on a row, or right-click to always use it for that store. Income, "To review" and "Not spending" (card bill payments, transfers between your own accounts, investments) have their own tabs.
- Card installments count in the month they're billed, not all on the purchase day.
- Purchases in another currency (ARS, USD, EUR…) use the bank's conversion, or the day's rate from Yahoo Finance when the bank doesn't send one.
- Categories & limits: a monthly limit per category and for the whole month, with a notification when you get close and another when you go over, plus an alert for large purchases. Suggest limits from history fills them in from your last three months.
- Insights: a year month by month, with spending against your limit and a trendline, each category's trend (rising, falling or steady), and a month-by-month grid.
- Bills: what's due and when.
- Card bills come with their real due date, total and minimum.
- Recurring boletos, automatic debits and financing installments are found in your accounts, and their due day is estimated from past payments. You can set the real day yourself.
- Bills are shown as paid, upcoming or not seen yet this month. Anything paid from an account that isn't connected can be marked as paid by hand.
- Everything new is translated to Brazilian Portuguese and respects Hide values (⇧⌘H).

StockBar 2.2.0
What's new in 2.2.0
- Português (Brasil): StockBar is fully translated to Brazilian Portuguese. Choose the language in Settings → General → Language; the app relaunches to apply it.
- Compact widget: the menu bar widget now offers 1D, 1W, YTD and All, so the return no longer gets cut off. A new 1W range is also available on the Stocks chart.
- Fixes: the widget table's column headers line up with their values, and a crash when opening the Stocks page in Portuguese is fixed.

StockBar 2.1.0
What's new in 2.1.0
- Connect banks inside StockBar: paste your Pluggy application's Client ID and Secret in Settings once, then click Connect a bank or broker. Pluggy Connect opens in the app, you sign in to Meu Pluggy, and the connection is saved and synced with no trip to the Pluggy dashboard. Connect again for each institution. Reconnect renews a connection when Meu Pluggy's one-year consent runs out.
- Connections named by bank: connections show the institution (e.g. "BTG Investimentos, BTG Banking") instead of "MeuPluggy".
- Hide values: one click at the bottom of the sidebar, or ⇧⌘H, masks every amount, quantity and account number so you can share screenshots. Percentages and charts stay visible.
- One Keychain approval: StockBar is now signed with a stable certificate, so choosing Always Allow on the Keychain prompt lasts across updates.
Setting up Open Finance
- Create a free account at meu.pluggy.ai and authorize your banks and brokers there.
- In the Pluggy dashboard, open your application and copy its Client ID and Client Secret.
- In StockBar, go to Settings → Open Finance, paste them, and click Connect a bank or broker.

StockBar 2.0.1
What's new in 2.0.1
- Open Finance importer: pick positions right on their rows (they turn blue) and import them all at once from the bar at the bottom. Stocks get an inline average-price field, which also updates stocks you already hold, and bonds and funds have Select all.
- Fund autofill: type a fund's CNPJ and click Autofill to fill in its name, type, tax status and latest CVM share price.
- Longer ranges: 3Y, 5Y and All on the Overview and the stock charts, with fund history back to 2021.
- Empty Bonds and Funds pages now link straight to the Open Finance importer.

StockBar 2.0.0
What's new in 2.0
StockBar is now a full window app, with the menu bar as a quick-look widget.
- Overview: the whole portfolio in one place, with allocation by B3 stocks, US stocks, bonds and funds, and a single return curve against your benchmarks.
- Stocks: holdings with average price and gain, this year's dividends and JCP (from B3's announcements), and drag-to-measure on the chart.
- Bonds: CDBs, LCAs and more, valued from their terms the way banks mark them, with income tax, allocation by indexer and a maturity ladder.
- Funds: holdings at CVM's latest share price, returns, and allocation by purpose.
- FGC Watcher: exposure per financial conglomerate (Banco Central data) against the FGC limits, today and at maturity.
- Fund Comparison: search Brazil's funds by name, CNPJ or manager, compare them against CDI, and open each one's fact sheet.
- Open Finance: connect your own Meu Pluggy application to check your positions against your banks and brokers, and add or update them in one click. The client secret is kept in the macOS Keychain.
