This release of simtools, the simulation toolkit for the CTA Observatory, includes the following main changes:

Bugfixes

• Support both filesystem and Git simulation-model readers in integration tests, including Git revisions for production-summary and model-parameter-table validation.
  Use output_path for generated array-element position files, reserving simulation_models_path for input model repositories. (#2607)
• Resolve integration-test validation schemas through the shared schema loader using package-relative names, allowing validation with installed simtools packages from any working directory. (#2608)

New Features

• Add simtools-create-setting-workflow for simpler setting of model parameters. (#2598)
• Allow to use apptainers in simtools applications (docker and podman are already implemented). (#2604)

Maintenance

• Reduce external CI build dependencies by caching pinned CORSIKA7 and sim_telarray inputs in private GHCR snapshots. (#2596)
• Simplify pytest configuration by mirroring simulation-model and simtools-test environment variables with matching command-line options. Remove the redundant direct test-resource path setting. (#2605)
