Sill 0.3
Sill now runs on its own Chromium engine, built from ungoogled-chromium.
- Chrome extensions: install them from the Chrome Web Store, pin them to the bar, and open their menus from the address field
- Your tabs, sign-ins and site data come along to the new engine the first time Sill opens
- A new app icon: the bird on teal glass
- Onboarding redrawn in pixels: a meadow out of the window, a robin on the sill, and a new lesson for switching folders and spaces
Requires macOS 26 (Tahoe).
Sill 0.2
Sill 0.2
A better view of the web — now with a proper welcome, and a way over from Arc and Dia.
- Bring everything over from Arc: your spaces with their colours and icons, pinned tabs, folders, Today and history, in one go. Arc gets a sunset on its way out. File ▸ Import from Another Browser…
- Bring your pinned tabs, folders and history over from Dia, into a space of their own.
- A new first launch: Sill sets itself up with you at a window — bring your things, make your first space yours, and learn the gestures by trying them on your trackpad.
- Gesture hints: when you do something the slow way, Sill shows you the gesture for it — switching tabs, spaces and folders, opening the Overview, and going back or forward.
- Delete folders and spaces: right-click one in the Overview, or use the Spaces menu. A folder's tabs can stay, in Today.
- A sweep of warm light rises through the window when Sill opens onto an empty space.
Sill 0.1
The first public version of Sill: a calm, native Mac browser that keeps out of the way of the page.
- A floating Liquid Glass bar that rests out of the way while you read and comes back when you need it
- Spaces, folders, pinned tabs and kept tabs, with an Overview of everything you have open (pinch to see it)
- Swipe between tabs, and swipe back and forward through a page's history (hold to pick from the list)
- Spotlight for new tabs, plus Peek and Small Sill for links you only need for a moment
- Split View, Air Traffic Control, multiple windows, profiles and private windows
- Built-in ad and tracker blocking
- Picture in Picture for videos and calls, and a floating audio player, controlled with pinch and two-finger gestures
- Passwords: fill from a menu under the field (including sign-ins inside frames), strong passwords for new accounts, Touch ID, and import from a CSV
- Sleeping tabs to keep memory low, and a hover card showing each tab's memory
- Updates download quietly and install when you quit, or now with Relaunch
Requires macOS 26 (Tahoe).
