GeniaFirewall 0.7.4 RC2

Release Candidate — testing release, not Stable.

GeniaFirewall 0.7.4 RC2 introduces a hardened single-EXE portable deployment model, protected embedded service lifecycle, improved WFP cleanup and diagnostics, and stricter global Block All behavior.

Highlights

  • Single-file portable package containing only GeniaFirewall.exe.
  • Embedded service is installed automatically into the protected %ProgramFiles%\GeniaFirewall\Service location.
  • Transactional service updates with rollback to the previous executable if health verification fails.
  • Verification of embedded payload SHA-256, SCM configuration, service and file ACLs, BFE dependency, executable path, and IPC service identity.
  • Improved Windows Firewall Compatibility handoff with persisted WFP policy cleanup verification.
  • Service activation and safe deactivation from the application settings.
  • Block All is now an absolute global mode covering TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, inbound/outbound traffic, including previously allowed applications and loopback.
  • UI clearly indicates the active global block state without modifying saved per-application rules.
  • Improved boot-policy restoration diagnostics.
  • Added bundled .NET license and third-party notice documentation.

Important

This build is a Release Candidate and is not considered Stable.

Authenticode signing and the complete final Windows release-validation gate are still pending. SHA-256 verifies file integrity but does not provide publisher identity verification.
