micro: files of any size

micro read several formats as one string or one buffer, which the browser caps — past
~512 M characters a text read comes back empty, past ~2 GB a binary read fails ("could not
be read … permission problems"). Every reader now works from slices of the file:

  • DXF streams — a 3.8 GB 3DFACE topography opens in under 30 s. One pass puts each kind
the file holds into its own layer (surface · design strings · pegs), grouped.
  • GeoTIFF reads only the bytes a view needs; ESRI ASCII and Surfer grids now work
the same way (decimated display, full-resolution windows for evaluation). A 2.3 GB TIFF
    opens in ~4 s, a 1.2 GB ASCII grid in ~7 s.
  • OBJ, ASCII PLY, Leapfrog .msh and .lfm stream into the large-mesh tier (14.6M
triangles from a 600 MB OBJ); .lfm checksums are still verified. Datamine wireframes and
Tidy project folder no longer read files whole either.
  • Also: DXF support (surfaces, strings, pegs, authored colours), a phone review mode,
micro inside the lead-acid shell, by-surface queries on open meshes, and fixes to
reloading a DXF layer from disk and to sizing the project-save dialog.

adder: much closer to CPython

Long run of CPython parity work: real tuples, BigInt-exact ints, CPython's float
formatting, exception model, generator protocol, with / async protocols, an object model
with metaclasses, and ~60 standard-library modules taken verbatim from CPython (pathlib,
shutil, ast, json, collections, dataclasses, random with CPython's sequence, bz2/lzma over
new pure-JS ports of libbzip2 and liblzma, …). jinja2, click, packaging, yaml, tqdm,
networkx, dateutil and six run. AIR compilation got faster and safer (speculate-and-restart
integer arithmetic, a compile cache, precompiled stdlib).

Elsewhere

  • @gcu/archive: xz and bzip2 both ways with no Wasm — lamina opens .xz.
  • gcu.condenser (the Jupyter widget) 0.4–0.6: streamed block models (cd.open),
surfaces, channels, labels, files mode, a kernel-side io/stats tier.
  • @gcu/dispatch: a case-grammar clause parser below the perceptrons.
  • plan tool overhaul (docked grid, lag/lead dependencies, CSV/SVG export, a guide).
  • New: @gcu/wmm (World Magnetic Model), @gcu/filterui, the gnsslog and
wuffle field instruments, a Node VFS backend.
  • @gcu/build: references in destructured parameter defaults are now renamed on
collision (a silent "X is not defined" in bundles).
