Install
- Browser edition: unzip
partcraft-browser-edition-v0.8.0.ziponto any web server (or runpython3 -m http.server 8000inside it) and open it. INSTALL.md in the folder has the rest. - Desktop: install CadCraft Studio for Windows or Linux.
What's in 0.8
- Describe a part: "bracket holding 20 pounds at 6 inches, aluminium, machinable". Your connected AI picks a generator, sizes it and stress-checks it, so the part comes back checked.
- Making cost as you design.
- Live analysis while you edit, Break it, a gravity dial (Earth, Moon, Mars, orbit), and design studies with a trade-off chart.
- Drag a part into BimCraft between app windows.
Said plainly: the drag has not been hand-checked between two real desktop windows yet.
Notices
- Nothing in 0.8 is code-signed; code signing and the Microsoft Store come in 0.8. This browser edition needs no installer; CadCraft Studio's installers are not signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway; the publisher shows as unknown. The Microsoft Store package is built but not in the Store yet, and the website's Windows package (MSIX) is not published: it is never published unsigned. Check the SHA-256 first.
- iPad, iPhone and Google Play moved to 0.8 with the signing. There is no iPad or iPhone build yet, and nothing is in an app store.
- Português (Portugal) (new), Português (Brasil), Español (México) and Bahasa Indonesia in Settings › General › Language are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed by a native speaker.
- Updates: CadCraft Studio 0.8 checks getcadcraft.com for a newer version once a day (Settings › Updates) and always asks before installing; it installs only packages signed with CadCraft's update key. A copy older than 0.7 can't update itself: install 0.8 once from this page or the download page.

What's in 0.7
PartCraft 0.7 adds the Illustrate workspace for manuals: views, exploded views and sections, balloons and a parts list, annotations that stay attached, line art, instructions as PDF or one HTML page, an interactive 3D file that opens offline in any browser, animation, and Update from the design…, which shows what changed before anything does. STEP, STL, OBJ, 3MF and .3dm files open as solid bodies (STEP without the exact kernel, its curved faces as many flat ones; meshes are repaired, with a report). Frames from AISC or EN 10365 steel sections with a cut list; closed loops in assemblies such as four-bar linkages; parts with hundreds of features rebuild only what follows a change; a variant pack builds your configurations into one zip. Posts you can edit (the built-in posts still write exactly what they wrote before), Parallel and Scallop finishing, a tool library and the stock in colour; offcuts kept between nests; laser programs as GRBL G-code (posts and laser programs not yet run on a real machine). USD export, and tools for your own AI assistant (the app contains no AI). A part with a body from a file is saved as part version 5, which PartCraft 0.6 refuses with its "newer version" message. Every app gets unit lists, a Compact layout, panels that tidy away, dialogs that move and two new workspace layouts (Ribbon and project browser, Toolbox and info box), in the browser and in CadCraft Studio. PartCraft's own boxes don't follow the unit lists yet: parts still show in millimetres. Português (Portugal) is new; it, Português (Brasil), Español (México) and Bahasa Indonesia are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed.

What's in 0.6
PartCraft is quicker to sketch and change: type sizes as you draw (each becomes a dimension), drag handles on an Extrude or Revolve, Extrude from it, Cut into it or Hole here from a picked face, values right in the history (double-click or F2 to change them), base planes that step back once a part has a solid, and repeated relations in one row. Export › Nest flat parts on sheets… nests plates or a roll with grain, turns and spacing, small parts in big parts' holes, and saves DXF for the laser or waterjet. Tolerance stack-ups in assemblies give worst case, RSS, parts per million outside your limits and which dimensions matter most, from ISO 2768, the drawing's GD&T or typed values. The CraftScript library gains frame3d. A second round adds configurations that turn features off and permanent magnets in 2-D magnetics. An assembly with a stack-up (assembly file version 5) or a part whose configuration turns features off (part file version 4) won't open in PartCraft 0.5. Fixed: a single typed digit plus Enter did nothing. Every app gets Show bars, Reset the layout, a toolbar menu, an interface size and pen and touch. Spanish (es-MX) and, new, Bahasa Indonesia are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed.

Install
- Windows 10 or 11: run
PartCraft-0.4-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, with no administrator rights. - Linux (Debian, Ubuntu):

What's in 0.4
Builds every part with the mesh kernel: OpenCascade left the build, so sweeps, lofts, surfaces, several bodies, sheet metal, ribs, rounds on curved edges, STEP import and exact STEP say Not built yet. Fillet, chamfer, shell and draft work on flat faces; Simulation, Flow, Generative and Manufacture work on named faces. New: Python scripts (Pyodide, MPL-2.0, unmodified in its own folder; run only scripts you trust), script find and replace, folding and completion, section view, title and revision blocks, hole tables, configurations, four joint types, draft analysis, adaptive clearing, faceted STEP AP214, touch, autosave, draft Spanish (not reviewed).

- One license exception: Python in PartCraft. Python scripts run on Pyodide (MPL-2.0; CPython under the PSF License), shipped unmodified in its own folder. Its license texts are in THIRD_PARTY.md. Everything else is Apache-2.0 or permissive. Run only Python scripts you trust.
- Español (México) in Settings › Language is a machine-made draft, not yet reviewed.
