}New: <footer>
A region fixed outside the scroll, like the <header> but at the bottom. Use it for a tab bar, an action bar or a message field.
<body>
<header>...</header>
...
<footer>
<button id="tab-list" class="tab on">List</button>
<button id="tab-summary" class="tab">Summary</button>
</footer>
</body>- Direct child of the root, one per screen.
- By default: a row, centered, at the bottom and full width. The scroll ends where the footer starts, so nothing is hidden behind it.
dockplaces it:bottom(default),top,left,rightorcenter. Onlybottomtakes space; the others float over the screen.- All the CSS applies:
width,height,margin,border-radius,background,box-shadow,align-self. A full bar, a narrow bar and a floating pill are all the same tag. - It covers bottom navigation, action bars, chat input bars and floating buttons.
Improved: overscroll before Android 12
The old effect moved the whole content, which looked like sliding. It now stretches the content from the pulled edge and springs back, like the Android 12 stretch. From Android 12 on, the system effect is still used.
Not in this version
- The footer does not hide when the keyboard opens.
- The footer does not add space for the system navigation bar.
