A launch splash for the terminal, and a way to pick the cloud tier for a
headless run. No protocol change, so an editor sees a 1.7.6-shaped agent.

Added

  • The terminal opens on the siGit wordmark. The banner is an animated
"ember wordmark" — the letters of "siGit" are the blank cells in the art and
the digits are a flame that ignites from the right and trails off to the
left. It is the same animation the siGit app plays at launch.
  • The splash waits on the startup checks. The account check (a bounded
request to sigit.si), the model scan, the git remote lookup and MCP
discovery each run on their own task and report as they finish; the results
print as Account, Models, Workspace and Tools lines under the chat's opening
quote. The model scan, the git lookup and MCP discovery used to run before
the first frame, so a slow MCP server meant a blank terminal for up to its
8 s handshake timeout. The splash leaves once the checks are in and 1.4 s
have passed, any key skips it, and 4 s is the hard cap. A skip or the cap
does not cancel the checks, so the model picker and the Repo tab still fill
in behind the chat. SIGIT_REDUCE_MOTION=1 draws the finished frame, and
terminals without truecolor fall back to the nearest 256-colour cell.
  • sigit run --model <tier> picks the siGit Code Cloud tier for a headless run. Headless
runs always used the default tier, so when that tier was unavailable a script or sandbox
runner had no way to pick another without pointing the custom-endpoint override at siGit Code
Cloud. The flag takes a tier name (prism) or its model id (onde-prism) and wins over the
provider override and the local-inference setting.

Fixed

  • /whoami has a timeout. The account check behind it now gives up after
10 s instead of waiting on an unreachable server.

Known limitations

  • A turn sent before MCP discovery finishes has no MCP tools for that turn.
The splash normally covers that window, but a skip or the 4 s cap can end
    it earlier.

Docs

  • The release skill now records that the public MCP Registry listing moved to
getsigit/si, that winget goes live only after a human merges the manifest
PR, and which name each registry publishes under.
