ime: korean: keys that end a composition of korean character are swallowed in macos. #13750
Issue DescriptionTyping korean character '가' requires composition of two character 'ㄱ(r)', 'ㅏ(k)' This issue has been raised multiple times in different forms(including one by me long ago). I found that it's essentially the same issue. Keys that end a composition of korean character are swallowed.
But on macos, I found only alacritty handles this correctly, and other terminal have similar issues. I maintained personal fork to fix this issue, hope it is fixed upstream. Will create pr it issue is created. If you run into any other issues with korean input, please leave a comment here: #6615 Expected BehaviorCorrect behavior Actual BehaviorCurrent behavior Reproduction StepsMacOS / Ghostty / nightly / korean typing

Same here on macOS with the built-in 2-Set Korean IME. I see it with Enter and with Option+arrow, which look like the same "key that ends the composition" problem:
Plain arrow keys are fixed on tip (#12447). It reproduces in a plain zsh tab, without tmux. I would be glad to test a fix. macOS 27.0, Apple M1. AI disclosure: Claude helped draft this. I reproduced it myself. |
