Changes going back upstream?

I know this isn't an official PG project, but are there any mechanisms in place to feed changes contributed to GITenberg repositories back upstream to Project Gutenberg?

Not yet.
I designed the system so we can track both PG's changes in a branch, and move forward on the fork regardless if they accept changes back upstream.
What I didn't think about, is a collection-wide way of tracking which books have changes not yet upstream.

I owe the PG community a long email about why GITenberg, and working out a process to push changes upstream. There have been a few cases in the past where community members have ragequit and started their own projects that didn't go anywhere that has made me hesitant to talk about the project until the books are online. But now they're online!

I wonder if Distributed Proofreaders is almost more important to reach out to as well? I do a bit of proofing there, but am not really part of it (I'm mainly on Wikisource), but my impression is that there's quite an established culture and that lots of the disucssion about the tools the use happens out of sight (I'm not really sure where).

Anyway, when changes are brought in from PG to here (periodically?), it should be pretty straight forward to create a diff to send to errata2014@pglaf.org — shouldn't it? A manual process to start with, that can be done by the person sending the pull request. But yeah, would probably need to happen automatically whenever a book is updated here and there are differences found.

Update on this. Check out https://github.com/gutenbergbooks That will provide an upstreaming and downstreaming mechanism for the texts. However, we'll not be changing the PG ebook production at this time, so most of our enhancements will stay in GITenberg at least until the process has matured.

Thanks for the update. That's interesting. So are they planning on adding all their books to Github?
